I'm amazed that this place is on the the list. It's a delightful backwater that once was a dam used by a nearby concrete factory. When it became no longer relevant, national parks took it over. The main camping area is below the hill on the left. To get to this point you ideally need a canoe or kayak and paddle down before climbing about 500 metres to this outcrop, similar to so many outcrops in the park. They're called pagoda formations.

This area is worth exploring. A packed lunch, plenty of water and an easy fire trail walk to complete.
R4F4RK In the region of Mudgee, Australia. Beautiful view of growing vines during a dry spring. Contrasting colors with threatening cloudy sky and mountains
We'd never heard of this place until we were looking for somewhere to stay on the way home from Newcastle - but we were soon in love with its enduring history, which was significant enough to be featured on the original Australian $10 note (with poet Henry Lawson).
