This is a really delightful property. We explored the all is Alsace area in the daytime and came back here for a picnic dinner on the patio each evening. The hosts are very charming and we muddled through our language barrier. We enjoyed delightful homemade jam, and learning about his watercolor techniques since I’m interested in that.

Charming Little House with Outstanding Hospitality

We had a very pleasant stay. Spacious courtyard, lovely grounds, cosy house! The Sohns’ hospitality was outstanding!

Even better in person!

This property is unbelievable, from the sweet guesthouse to the gardens and especially the lovely and thoughtful hosts. They meticulously curated binders of information about places to visit, what nights local restaurants are open, and the bedding was very comfortable. (Side bar: don't trust Google's hours for restaurants! We visited at least 4 places that listed themselves as open online and were not serving food during the listed hours!). This was a once-in-a-lifetime trip for us, but if we're ever lucky enough to come back to France, we'll gladly stay here again and would absolutely recommend to our friends and family to stay here.

Enjoyably quirky!

We had a 3 night stay here on the the long drive north from Italy. The 'little house' is just that. Spacious for two, very well equipped and very clean and well presented. Parking is right outside the door. The 'farm' is set in the village centre. Completely renovated, it boasts several large barns and a large courtyard. Our hosts were delightful. A few goodies, including delicious homemade jams for the breakfast baguette. The courtyard and barns are stuffed with old artifacts and the large shady garden is accessible and very pleasant indeed. It's a fascinating place. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful but privacy is ensured. On the edge of the garden is a large platform on a pole with a Storks nest on top! The Stork pair roosted there and it was delightful to watch their antics from the patio. The local area was lovely and the nearby Lalique museum was wonderful. A great property to stay in.

Magical

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Where to start? The hosts were kind, gracious and inviting. Wonderful people. The house is more beautiful than the pictures. They can't replicate the setting. It is idyllic in every sense of the word. The accommodations are not luxurious but represent, in my opinion and my mind, the epitome of French farm lifestyle. The gardens are exquisite. The entire compound is direct from a movie set. We stayed in early June and the daily high temperatures were in the low 70s F and nightly lows were in the mid to upper 50s. We were very comfortable. I don't believe there is air conditioning, so that may factor into your decision should you come in the middle of July. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The town is quaint, the countryside is bucolic defined. The access to neighboring towns and tourist sites is quite easy. We had dinner (wine, cheese, bread, fruits and pastries) every night on the tiny back balcony that overlooked the garden and watched the storks nesting no more than 50m away. Had to pinch myself at how awe inspiringly gorgeous the house was. 100/100 would recommend.

Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame gastheer en gastvrouw. Duidelijke uitleg over accomodatie en wat er te doen is in de omgeving.De accomodatie is zeer sfeervol, van alle gemakken voorzien en mooi gelegen aan de binnenplaats van een zeer fraai gerenoveerde Elzasser boerderij, middenin het dorp.Goede uitvalsbasis voor mooie tripjes door de Elzas. Een rit met de Jeep is zeer aan te bevelen, de gastheer weet heel veel te vertellen over de omgeving en de geschiedenis.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in diesem kleinen Elsässer Charakterhaus. Die Gastgeber waren unglaublich herzlich, haben sich viel Zeit genommen und uns vieles gezeigt, was den Aufenthalt noch besonderer gemacht hat. Das Haus selbst ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und lädt sofort zum Wohlfühlen ein. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Schade, dass für das entzückende Brañhiesel nur 5 Punkte zu vergeben sind. Wir vergeben glatte 10 Punkte. So lieb, wie wir empfangenen wurden, begann der Urlaub sofort. Die Eheleute Sohn sind einfach genial!! Die U nterkunft ist gemütlich und der Außenbereich für entspannte Abende ideal. Wir haben wervolle Tipps für Ausflüge erhalten und so die malerische Umgebung mit dem Rad, zu Fuß und mit dem Auto erkundet. Wir sagen einfach danke, für einen wunderschönen Urlaub.

Wir haben wunderschöne Tage im Branhiesl verbracht. Das kleine Haus ist sehr gemütlich und von der Terasse aus kann man gut die Störche beobachten. Es ist ein wunderbarer Ort mit sehr netten Gastgebern.

Ein Wochenende in kreativer und entspannter Umgebung

Das Branhiesel ist ein wunderbar und großzügig ausgestattetes Freienhäuschen in einem antiken Ambiente, kombiniert mit modernen Geräten, wo diese benötigt werden. Gleichzeitig ist der gesamte Gebäudekomplex äußerst liebevoll und kreativ gestaltet und dekoriert.Die Gastgeber, das Ehepaar Sohn, hat uns sehr liebenswürdig empfangen, inklusive vorbereitetem Feuer im Holzofen der Küche ! Ihre Hilfsbereitschaft, ihre Großzügigkeit und die spannenden Geschichten über ihr Familienanwesen haben uns gleich heimisch fühlen lassen. Wir können daher diese Ferienwohnung nur wärmstens empfehlen und kommen sehr gerne wieder !

Un gîte de charme

Accueil très chaleureux de la part des propriétaires, qui sont des passionnés de leur région. Beaucoup d'informations sur les possibilités de découvertes offertes dans les environs. Ontzettend vriendelijk en hartelijk ontvangst door de B&B eigenaren Anne Marie en Jean Georges. Gedurende het gehele verblijf zijn ze zeer behulpzaam en open geweest. Communiceren met hen kan zowel in het Frans als Duits. Jean Georges kan boeiend vertellen over de rijke geschiedenis van de Elzas. De locatie is schitterend en inspirerend, een droomplek !
