It was a lovely home with many modern conveniences with interesting furnishings and decor. There was a lot of thought and time that went into everything we found in this home. My husband said I was like a kid on Christmas everytime I discovered something else (and he liked the new gadgets in the kitchen). There were only 2 of us, but with the bedrooms and the sofa beds, there was room for more. The home was close to everything we wanted to explore. I also enjoyed the view from the window upstairs. We hope to return.

Our favorite place thus far! Quaint, clean, beautifully decorated, peaceful, and the best deck and dock. There are 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards. Absolutely lovely, a great place for my family and dogs to spend quality time. The river is beautiful! Can’t wait to go back!

The barbecue grill is a small hibachi, charcoal grill, and with a broken leg was unusable, there was no iron or ironing board but overall the house was very clean, and the view of the river was very relaxing

Family Reunion

Nice clean home, comfortable bedrooms, accommodating bathrooms and good working kitchen. Highlight is back deck leading to Chester River. You can use the kayaks at the property and fishing is very good! Overall pleasant experience and would definitely stay there again.

Tidal River Nature Wonderland

The dock is the highlight of this property with an additional floating dock that moves with the substantial (2') tide. Imperative to time your paddling with tide or you will get stranded 30' from dock at low tide! This was nature immersion therapy, so peaceful sitting on the dock with coffee and my concertina at 6 a.m., listening to the many birds, watching the ospreys, buzzards and eagles. CONCERNS:the boat shed was padlocked but the very responsive owner had it opened with a bolt cutter. the television was fritzing out and he came to correct it. There was no can opener in kitchen but Food Lion is about 1/2 mile away. Although the house is beautifully laid out and appointed, the biggest inconvenience was no dressers in bedrooms, so we lived out of our suitcases all week.

Peaceful relaxing getaway with my family. The cottage was perfect in every way. The property outside was a dream. Every day we were outside on the deck or dock enjoying nature. This is exactly what we needed to recharge with life. Can’t wait to come back and enjoy this perfect retreat again!

Cozy Getaway

This place was perfect for all of us. It was 2 couples, and the way the house is set up, it’s almost like 2 combined apartments with a shared kitchen! It was very clean and accommodating, the view was beautiful. The kitchen was equipped with everything except a blender (we just packed our own). The bathrooms have travel size shampoos, conditioners,body wash, etc. The only downside was the outdoor speakers did not work and then we couldn’t get the outdoor lights to work. Another thing was the grill. It’s a very small charcoal grill. When we saw it, we laughed it off and just cooked inside the kitchen. Other than those small things, everything else was perfect. Definitely recommend and would definitely stay again

Excellent place to stay!

I booked this house for a week as a quiet fishing trip get away. For starters Leone is awesome, always responds quick and is an amazing host.The house itself: was very clean, cozy, and had everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Other reviews said furniture was uncomfortable but I thought it was fine. Location was 3 min to foodlion, 10ish min to gas station, and about 16 min to large store for fishing gear. TV has netflix and lots of other shows to watch if thats what you want but most of the time I spent outside fishing.Fishing: By far best fishing I have ever done! Private dock was large and allowed to move around to fish different areas. River water usually was lower during most mid days but rose at night and mornings, which was great because it allows you to look for areas you could get snagged in. The deepest water is on the other side of the river but, I promise this dock is in a prime location.I caught 19 fish during the week. 2 Large mouth bass, 6 blue gill, 4 white perch, a ton of catfish/bull head (head out around 7 or just after sunset, will guarentee to catch catfish) i used worms and let it sit at the bottom. Tons of wildlife, very peaceful, a true hidden gem!!

Lark's Nest on the Chester River

The Lark's Nest is in a nice location. The home decor is pleasant to the eyes and well-arranged. The host provided us with all the necessities (towels, cooking supplies, cleaning supplies, and toiletries). The cons were dirty ceiling fans, the sofa needed cleaning, and the outside lighting needed to be brightened. A mouse was found in the house. The host was apologetic, accommodated us financially, and sent out an exterminator to handle the rodent issue. Overall, the actual place was a good stay despite the mouse.

Nice waterfront property

We enjoyed our stay here. The dock and waterfront views were amazing! The kayaking was fun. Just a shame we are in a drought because river was too low to go out on Sun. Furniture not the best for comfort but other amenities were good!

Weekend visit to Chestertown

Loved having coffee on the dock in the morning with the geese. We were back and forth to WAC most of the weekend but enjoyed a nice paddle one afternoon (joined by a bald eagle!). Will definitely return.

Tranquility

This was a much needed weekend away and we hit the jackpot! Communication with our host was excellent and so accommodating. We searched for a place where we could relax and have fun, and this rental checked all the boxes. Beautifully decorated, picturesque setting, with all the special touches. I would rent this home again and work with this host for any other properties.

Lark’s Nest was a cute little place! Very clean! The view from the patio was stunning, and if you’re a bird lover you will be in your glory! Bring your binoculars and sit on the deck and wait! House was well equipped with most everything you would need! Host was very quick to write back when asked a question! First time in this area and hopefully be back again in the future!

Lovely Retreat with Water Access for Kayaking

Our stay was like house sitting for a good friend or family member. We were very comfortable and this was easily the best stocked rental we've ever stayed in. The host has thought of almost everything you could need and keeps a spotless rental. We can't comment on the second floor as our other family members had to cancel at the last minute, but a quick look-see showed that it was well stocked, too. Bad weather kept us from enjoying the outside, but I'm sure it is quite nice in the summer. The house sits off of a fairly busy two lane road, but we were pleasantly surprised at how little noise we heard and that wasn't often or intrusive. Having a washer and dryer, a large frig/freezer and dishwasher made the stay easily managed, even for a larger group. With hotel rooms in the area frequently having ridiculous prices, this gem of a rental for a family is greatly appreciated. We will return!
