Onsen was very nice, rooms have been keep in top shape, with new fresh tatami mats, clean walls, etc. Buffett breakfast had a lot of choices, Japanese and some western items. Wi-Fi in lobby only. free transport to and from Minakami station can be arranged."

The shower and bedroom were particularly nice. I would have given this hotel a perfect 5 star rating, but unfortunately the bedroom window (Room #7) faced a separate residential house that had many very loud and annoying dogs that barked every day from 6am to 12pm without stopping. "Checkout staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The onsen was welcoming for foreigners and we were informed tattoos were okay too, which was an unexpected surprise. Amenities (including robe for the onsen) were provided and there were vending machines easily accessible as well. Short walk to Yuzawa Station so it was very convenient. Compared to other properties in the area, it was nice to stay in a hotel with a private bathroom for only a slight price increase from hostel-style accommodations....

The free shuttle service to the ski resort was also extremely useful as they would drive you to your desired resort and pick you up at your specified time.
