Nice get away

Mountain Getaway

DOA FANTASTIC

This was a perfect home for my family. A perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and fun! The game room may have been the most fun with having pool and ping-pong. We even created our own ping-pong game that allowed everyone to play together called DOA. Our dogs enjoyed the deck and side yard that they could go whenever they wanted! Power was lost for a couple hours, but we had endless things to do with the perfect weather we were dealt with. We would definitely come back! Thanks for allowing us to stay! :)

It was good

We enjoyed our stay at this property but a few things could be improved. There is no access to get into the river, we had to use the neighbors steps. The driveway access is a very steep gravel road and the renter should be informed of this ahead of the stay. I had to call the property management twice in order to get code access before check in and I didn’t receive communication outside of my calling and bugging. All and all it was a good trip.

Great River Retreat!

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Taccoa River Getaway. The setting is beautiful and the cabin is nicely decorated with plenty of room inside and lots of deck space to relax. We thought the beds and furniture were comfortable. The river front space is gorgeous. One thing to be aware of is how many steps there are from the back deck to the river front space. My son and I counted about 80 stair steps. If you want to fish you’ll likely need to wade out to the middle of the river so you can cast without snagging brush. The water is shallow and pretty calm. The dam did a release in the early evening both nights but the water level would go down by the morning. My husband and son caught a ton of fish and really enjoyed fishing. We brought our dog and the fenced in area was great for her. You’ll need to bring basic food items like cooking spray for pans, coffee, salt and pepper etc. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!

Fish Trap and River Bound

First off, I’ve wanted to stay on Fish Trap for years. The view is amazing. What doesn’t match with the description is the height of the property to the location of the river. From the porch to the water is connected with about 150 steps top to bottom…Not across the road as the pictures might depict. No big deal…we made due. Awesome property for small dogs with its own gated area for pet release without fear they will run off. Kudos on the fenced in area for pets. The rooms were nice; two king suites turned out nice. Beds are stiffer than we like, but made for some restful nights. As for the third sleeping area, down stairs amongst the pool and ping pong tables… we didn’t have a third adult couple like we hoped, but if we had, they would have been disappointed with a twin/double bunk bed. Space is large enough for a king…so why not replace the “kid vibe” and create an all around adult retreat? Can’t complain about the TVs and other amenities…all acceptable. As to the furniture in the main living area…..the leather loungers are so “relaxed” you have the strain your neck just to see straight. Loved the gas logs…used them nightly. Let’s talk about that sofa…. Rickety and almost fell apart and likely the most uncomfortably hard seating ever. Also, the lamps were practically falling over and falling apart. If I were to own this house, I’d have top notch furniture and lighting so there’s no question you’re in a four star resort. 3.5 stars; improve furniture-4.5 stars, ez.

Awesome cabin, dropping in and out from the road a little sketchy but once you do it a couple time its no issue. Views are ridiculous and the cabin is a traditional fly fisherman’s dream with great access to the river, shopping 10 minutes away in downtown Blue Ridge. Its in the perfect area to go in any direction for daily adventure! Can also tube from the cabin and multiple get-outs within 2 miles or float all the way down to Horseshoe, about 4 hour float!

Wonderful Toccoa River Experience!

This is a great family cabin right on the Toccoa River! We enjoyed everything about it! The view, the lodging, great gameroom with pool/ping pong table, hot tub, making smores at the fire pit! ALOT of great family fun and experiences! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone looking!

Great house and location. Our only complaint is that gas grill didn’t work. We had bought a lot of meat to grill while staying there. That was disappointing.

Best 30th birthday weekend my wife could have asked for!

Upon our arrival it looked as if one of the footboards on one of the beds was loose. We called the property management and they sent out the maintenance man right away to make sure it was functioning properly. The maintenance man was very friendly by the way. Everything was great and the river was cool and refreshing! We could not have been happier!

Had a wonderful time, just too short!

We had a wonderful time; the house is nicely furnished. Was clean. Convenient to Blue Ridge, (about 10-15 minutes away) enjoyed the firepit at night, a nice small fenced-in area for the dogs, everything we needed! Thoroughly enjoyed Toccoa Riverside Restaurant! The only downside was not related to the house itself. You need to travel on a gravel road to get to it, and due to the lack of rain, it was rough and dusty! But once we got there it was nice and you thought twice about leaving to go places!

Clean but uncomfortable

The property was clean and was an okay place to stay. The drawbacks were that the furniture and beds were very uncomfortable and the kitchen is unorganized and the oven doesn’t work very well. Also, the walk down to the creek is very steep and not easy to get to. It is a communal dock and the pictures are probably from when they first started renting because it is now very unkept. We left a day early due to the main floor master bed being uncomfortable.

Nice cabin well furnished

The fireplace wasn’t working as noted from a previous guest and management did not get it repaired. Due to the rental agreement they will not give any credit for broken appliances. The dog area was infested with ticks. The stairs to the river are challenging. I would not rent this cabin unless you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The road is very steep as well as the driveway. Would not stay there again.

Great house - tough driveway

The house was great. Well stocked with things to do and a good layout. The temperature differential between the top floor and the bottom was notable. The driveway access was precarious and turnaround was limited up top and not available on the bottom drive. The distance from the house to the river was not as clear in the description as the actual. Not really an issue though. The dam release schedule does impact fishing at the deck down by the river. Overall, still a very good house and trip.

Terrible!

Not a good place to stay. There is so very many steps down to the river, the house sits on a cliff. Crickets in the walls and bathrooms, basement was nasty. Forget fishing or swimming, only thing to do is to sit by the river. We stayed for 30 minutes and the Realtor would not give our money back. Very disappointed. Worse place we have been, including customer service, pictures are very misleading.

Treehouse View

Great little cabin had everything we needed for a last minute short stay. Home was clean with plenty of kitchen ware and towels. Furnishings a little dated and worn but were clean. Cushions on screened back porch need deep cleaning but are comfortable. Beds are comfortable as well. Great fire pit beside the river would have been perfect if firewood were provided and there was not a dirt road and 84 steps between it and the house. When the construction next door ended for the day, you could hear the river from the back porch. It was in the 50's at night and we were disappointed that we could not use the gas fireplace without paying an "outside of season" penalty. Still overall a very nice cabin that I would recommend.

Great Cabin

The house was just perfect except for the access to the river which did not exist. I did ask and was given the answer that we could park down by the river and would be able to put our kayaks in the water there. You had no room or access to park by the river. And no access to the river. It is located directly on the river but it did not provide a way into the water. The bank was too steep and too far down to the water. But overall the house is wonderful and we loved it. We just had to go about a mile down the road to a public access point to put our kayaks in the water. The house was wonderful and clean and had a great view!!
