This place is a gem! Perhaps our favorite of 6 places along the Queensland coast. Super-quiet, very modern, like a cabin in the woods, on the beach! Steps from a gorgeous long stretch of beach (no one on it in late July), nice plunge pool, good amenities, although not a full kitchen. (Who knew you could microwave salmon?) There is a cart for luggage, 2 minutes’ walk to the property. So private yet 5 minutes from restaurants. We will be thinking of it months from now.

Pleasant surprise

Cannot recommend enough. We had a wonderful stay at The Bungalows in Mussion Beach. Best part of our QLD road trip. Quiet beachfront villa with everything you need. Wished we stayed longer!

We booked this property with the understanding we would have access to laundry facilities, main kitchen and pool. Got email couple of weeks before that this would no longer be the case as was now private reaidence. No laundromat in Mission Beach, had to drive 26 km to Tully. No access to full kitchen, Weber Q and microwave only. We were there for a week, so inconvenient. Would be OK for night or 2. Cleaning/yard staff excellent and very apologetic. Lucky weather was not hot, so probably would not have used larger pool. Pity, as property beautiful, quiet and secluded.

Venue is located within a high rainfall area, a massive improvement would be an undercover walkway from the carparks to the rooms. Also the hot water was turned off approx 60 mins prior to our check out time, we were packed ready to go but had to have a cold shower prior to leaving as our hot water was switched off.

Wonderful stay.

Beautiful villa overlooking the sea. Well built and comfortable. Suggest you have a car though as taxi fares are very expensive. Would stay again.

The Bungalos are right at the beach. The photos do not lie about the rooms and nearly everything is spotless clean. Only the "private pool" is disgusting (hair, dead animals,... swimming in it, cold, no pump - not usable) while even the deck was super clean. The bed was very comfortable, the bar kitchen helpful and the bathroom had direct access to the deck. There were two free cocktail/mocktail coupons for the Elandra. I thought it was just a walk along the beach but you also have to walk along a track and up rotten stairs, so remember to wear real shoes if you walk there (Don't drink and drive!). On the way back I underestimated the distance and early sunset and and needed to use the flashlight of my phone to find my way back. But that proved what I was told before: it is very safe. Where else can a woman walk along a lonely beach in the dark and be safe? Within this little paradise there was one thing that bothered me more than the dirty pool. Shortly after I booked the price got reduced and I hoped that ment I would not end up in one out of the three bungalows that does not have much of a sea view - the only one that cannot be seen from the beach because of all the plants surrounding it. But I was wrong. It did not feel great to pay more but still get a poor view. For a couple privacy might be nice but for s.o. travelling solo and not sharing costs it would be nice to have a view. Left a bad feeling! So: bungalow 3 to me should be a different category.

Lovely accommodation, really secluded and very easy to switch off and relax. The plunge pool was a real bit of luxury. The shower was difficult to maintain the temperature and on our last morning was cold.

Wir haben hier 2 Nächte verbracht und es ist einfach schön! Sehr wenige Menschen vor Ort und ein Strand für sich alleine! Frühstück gibt es auch inkl. Nespressomaschine, Jogurt, frische Eier, Milch und Früchten! Zudem sind alle 3 Villas und das Haupthaus zu 100% autark = Solarenergie und Batteriespeicher
