Dock on the River! Patio,Yard- Dozing at Dog River

Summary:
Welcome to Dozing on Dog River, where you can kick back and relax at our cozy cottage! Our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home can sleep up to 10 people and features multiple outdoor seating areas, a spacious front porch and a dock with access to Dog River! We have a fully-equipped kitchen, oversized TV, free WiFi and so much more! Here, you can enjoy the serenity of nature, all while being 15 mins from Downtown Mobile! If you prefer a day on the water, there is a public boat ramp 5 mins from our house!

The Space:
Guest will enter the home through the front door on the porch. Once inside, you'll be greeted by the living room which features a queen sleeper-sofa, large TV and a cozy corner with extra chairs. Just past the living room is the dining room with seating for six with views of both the kitchen and the living room. The spacious kitchen features a full-size refrigerator, gas cooktop, oven, microwave and a bistro table with two chairs overlooking the backyard and dock!

There are two bedrooms on the main level. The first is just off the front door and features a queen bed and ample closet space. The second bedroom also has a queen bed and access to the patio and backyard.There is a fireplace in the bedroom, however, it is not operational. You'll find the remaining beds downstairs. Please note that the steps to the basement are steep. We have left a set of bells on the door for those who wish to be alerted when the door is opened for safety. There are four twin beds downstairs and ample space for blow-up mattresses should you choose to bring one!

Don't forget to checkout the backyard, where you will find multiple outdoor spaces! There is a private patio off the second bedroom, a larger patio area off the basement and swing on the dock! At high tide, the dock has a depth of 5 ft, so please use caution if you choose to dock your boat at our house. We do not have a boat ramp, but there is a public boat ramp 5 mins away!

Guest Access:
The house has a digital keypad at the front door which will provide you access to the house. The code will be provided upon check-in. You will have full and private access to the home. Please be aware that this home has two parking pads, but there is no street parking available.

The Neighborhood:
Our home is located in a quiet, rural area of Mobile, just off Dog River. This area was hit hard in the last hurricane. Our community on the water has fully rebuilt and is vibrant again. Unfortunately the inland area between the interstate and the water has not been rebuilt. Many of the structures were condemned, others have been torn down. This inland corridor from the interstate to the water looks rough, but it is not a safety concern as it is largely abandoned. It's just unsightly. Driving to the home, you may question why you booked the house. Once you arrive in our actual neighborhood, though, you will love it. If you do decide to cancel after arriving, it will be subject to our moderate cancellation policy.

Getting Around:
Uber, Lyft, and other Taxi available, but driving is encouraged!

Please note: as this house is on the river, sometimes we get water in the basement during torrential rainstorms. We are actively working on a solution.

We hope you will enjoy our rural and cozy home on the river as much as we do! We frequently see all kinds of wildlife on our property, which is a huge part of our love for the area. It is not uncommon to see rabbits, deer, snakes, mosquitos (and all other types of insects), lizards, spiders, possums, frogs, and maybe even a raccoon or two. If any of this makes you uncomfortable, we recommend finding accommodations elsewhere :).
This is an older home with all the quirks of an older home. We love our house and have devoted ourselves to making it clean, comfortable, and unique for our guests. If you are looking for a brand new luxury experience, our home might not be for you.

We require a signed rental agreement and for guest to be 25 years of age to book.
If you notify us of your intent to cancel prior to the lapse of the free cancellation period, we will return 97% of your payment. The other 3% will already have been collected by the credit card processing company, and we have no way to return that portion of the payment.

We are a pet friendly home. Pets must be crated when they are left unattended in the home. We do not allow pets on furniture or beds, and all waste must be cleaned up from the yard. All pets require a non-refundable pet fee. If there is evidence of pet hair on the furniture, excess hair in the home, stains, or waste found in the yard or home, you will be charged the cost to clean this. In the event that a security deposit is collected, we will retain all or part of the security deposit to cover any costs associated with additional cleaning due to pets.
