We arrived at the property at 7pm, the buidlings looked cute, the price should have been the giveaway this wasnt going to go well. We went into reception and it took more than 20 mins to get anybody to help. (Just as a reference, the Holiday inn across the street helped us immediately and was extremely friendly) So when we finally got staff, she was not friendly, no help on where our room was located, no suggestions on things to do in the area, just handed me the key and nothing else, until I was walking out when she gave me every excuse for why she "didnt hear us". The elevator reaked of smoke, we got to the room, the key didnt work. My husband had to go get a key that did work, at this point I was already trying to book elsewhere. My point here is do not book here, the Malaga Inn was 2 blocks over and great.

First we were given key cards that didn't work and when we were able to get in to the room, there were no linens just a mattress, the floor was dirty and there were empty soda cans strewn about. When we got a new room it had 2 double beds instead of the king bed we paid for. Coffee maker had everything but an actual coffee pot. Saw 3 roaches through the course of the night. We left before sunrise.

Our stay was extremely disappointing & honestly stressful from the moment we arrived. Despite completing check-in ahead of time, I waited about 7 minutes in the lobby before an employee came out to assist. We were initially assigned a room on the third floor, with no elevator available. After carrying everything up, our key would not work. When we tried to enter the room, we discovered someone else was already staying in the room. This was extremely alarming & unacceptable. We went back to the front office & were given a new room, thankfully on the first floor. The entire property felt very sketchy, with questionable activity & people lingering around the rooms and parking lot. While it’s technically in the historic district, this is by far the worst “hotel” in the area & should honestly be labeled a motel, not a hotel. The room itself was filthy. There was no working heater, it was 36* outside. The Floors were so dirty that our child’s onesie was black with grime after crawling for only a few minutes. Roaches, visible mold & a strong smoke smell. Flooring was poorly installed, with sections not even connected, exposing concrete underneath. Curtains were damaged & would not close properly, we had to improvise a way to secure them just to have privacy. The condition of the room made us feel uncomfortable & unsafe. The only positive thing I can say is that the breakfast was decent & we didn’t have major complaints in that area. This property is nothing like the photos!

Room assignments, didn’t feel safe in room, mold and evidence of significant water damage on walls and ceiling. Bathroom door and room door didn’t shut securely due to water damage, after dark people were loitering outside rooms and in parking lot and we were verbally harassed by a woman who was either mentally ill or under the influence of something.

The hotel rooms where old the 1st room they put us in smelled of mold the second room they gave us nothing worked in it and the 3rd room the heat didn’t work tv had one channel only the room are nothing what the promo on there site the outside was full of people dealing drugs all night the staff there is very rude when asking about things and telling people are internet is down so deal with it they promo that for a small fee you can leave car there for cruise but only if you book right from them not though 3rd party they never say that till you get there we seen people coming there to check in and taking one look at it and leaving right away they don’t have coffee or any kind of breakfast like they promote in a nutshell this hotel need to be condemned and tore down by the city I would stay away from there if your looking to stay for a cruise or to visit the city

So, room was VERY worn out, smelled and in bathroom light fixture was just hanging by wires, bathroom shower was moldy and the molding wasn't at all in place, TV didn't work, and the list goes on. Have pictures. Went to front desk and the only option was to move to 4 th floor, but was told elevator was out of order.Couldnt do that due to knee replacement surgery. Cannot believe how disgusting this was. And Expedia has it on their list. Horrible.....

Worst motel room I’ve ever stayed in in my life! The place needs to be torn down. I have a longlist and pictures. Room stunk, was filthy, caulking coming out of the bathtub exhaust fan didn’t work in the bathroom, stains on the floor by the toilet Toilet roll holder broke.Floor had pieces broken out of it. Desk and tv table were warped and looked like they were going to fall apart any time. Lamps were rusty. Stain on the chair. Room right next to us looked like it was broken into. Garbage in the hallways. Ice machine didn’t work and probably a few more things I forgot.

We travel a lot, and have stayed in amazing hotels and some pretty crappy places, but this was possibly the worst hotel experience I've ever had. On check in, when I gave my name, the girl at the desk couldn't be bothered to get off her personal phone call. She didn't ask for ID or Credit Card, just said there wasn't the King room I'd asked for available but we could have 2 doubles and gave me the room cards. This, despite the fact that there were only about 4 other cars in the parking lot. Going up stairs, you could see at least 4 rooms we passed had been stripped and not re-made. Our room was filthy and smelled awful. I picked up the lid to the ice bucket (which looked like someone had used as an ashtray) and a cockroach ran out from under it. Needless to say, we went straight to the desk and told her the room was unacceptable and she canceled our reservation without blinking and eye-still not hanging up her personal phone call. Since we'd booked through Expedia, we asked for something to signify that we hadn't stayed there and she insisted she couldn't give us anything as we were 'out of her system'. It took hours on the phone with Expedia, but we were able to get the stay refunded, as they weren't able to contact anyone at the hotel (I'm guessing she was too busy on her personal call to answer their call). Final words: I would not, under any circumstances, stay at this hotel. I would sleep in my car first! If I could give it a negative star rating I would.

Not bad but could be better

Upon getting there the night staff lady didn't appear too friendly. She wasn't rude or anything, just not friendly. The key to the room didn't work so we returned to have it fix, it still didn't work so the night clerkobwd me to a new room. That room was musty smelling. I discovered that it has water on the floor leaking from the AC unit. I reported the issues to the morning clerk who was friendly and said she would have maintance check on it. Other than the leaking AC and musty smell the place was ok and did what I needed.
