Our family enjoyed the week of July 4th at Amuse Cove. The home was very clean and fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The area was quiet and provided plenty of room for swimming, floating, kayaking, boating, and fishing. There are plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, and other local shops within 10-15 minutes of the home. The water off the dock was deep and the slide was a nice addition. It was very hot, but the home stayed cool and comfortable. We experienced a power outage during our stay due to storms, but the local property manager at Vacasa kept us informed with restoration updates. The home provided plenty of space and the wifi worked great for streaming. Although we did not take advantage of the community pool or tennis courts, the kids enjoyed the basketball hoop. It is not uncommon for the area, but be prepared to climb a lot of stairs. The home has 3 levels, so there are stairs inside of the home, as well as 2 decks with stairs. There are 42 fairly steep steps from the home leading to the dock with a handrail. However, most properties in the area do have a lot of stairs. We have stayed at Smith Mountain Lake in the past and had the same experience with other homes. It was inconvenient for us not being able to use the boat lift and power outlets at the dock. We were able to tie our boat to the dock, but it was out in the weather. We had to run several extension cords from the house to the dock to charge the batteries on our boat and inflate rafts. We knew ahead of time that we would not have access to the boat lift or power outlets, so we packed extra extension cords. Access to those amenities would be nice for guests to use.
