We stayed at the Octagon it was a beautiful place. The scenery was just beautifu. Fishing was great. Kent and Heather were amazing hosts. They have you set up for everything. Can't wait to go back.

Peaceful Getaway

This was truly a unique stay. We boated out to the private island where we enjoyed a peaceful stay at the Octagon which had everything we needed. The deck was amazing. The location was amazing nestled amongst the trees with a short path to the water with a private dock and breathtaking views. We kayaked around the island and fished right off our dock. We truly enjoyed our restful retreat and the hospitality of the hosts.

A peaceful paradise!

The folks at 1BSI have thought of everything! It was so easy to enjoy being off grid with the many ingenious and creative ways they have designed and implemented comfort measures everywhere (solar and battery powered solutions, compost toilets, a hot showah, etc.). We thoroughly enjoyed the boats and hammocks on offer as well as the unlimited firewood. We are very much looking forward to returning again and again to explore the varied lodging options on the sweetest little island in Maine. Thank you to Kent and crew! It was a true delight to adventure on 1BSI!

This was an absolutely amazing stay. The treehouse was everything I imagined yet so much more! Kent made the experience so seamless and enjoyable. Everything you could possibly think of he has taken care of. I had a million questions and Kent answered every single one with no irritation or hesitation. Communication was great! We had a blast canoeing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. The treehouse has a beautiful deck and so many windows to enjoy the view and sounds of nature. I definitely want to come back next year. Thank you for a fantastic, fun-filled weekend!

Great getaway

We stayed for 2 nights in the Oaktagon. Kent was an amazing host and extremely helpful and kind! He kept us very well informed before, during, and after our stay. He made it clear what was supplied at the Oaktagon and what was not, so we were able to only pack and transport what we actually needed. If you're looking for a unique getaway, look no further!
