It was a good location for the old town. During the day there are several restaurants open, but after 6 pm the choices nearby are limited. Our first room had a strong cigarette smell, but the staff moved us with no issue the next morning to a clean room.

Zimmer waren schön, Lage in der Altstadt auch gut. Frühstück war sehr gut. Leider war im Pool kein Wasser - bei 28 Grad und Sonne wäre eine Abkühlung nett gewesen - zumal wir das Hotel gewählt hatten, weil es einen Pool hat.

I enjoy staying in boutique hotels and am not a fan of fancy ones, as I consider them a waste of money when most of the time is spent outside. However, I am certain there are much better options for staying in Montevideo. My room was dirty, there were no glasses, the AC barely worked, and on top of that, my room (#6) faced a bar with loud music playing all night. In the morning, the smell of breakfast permeated every corner of the hotel

The hotel is within walking distance of many bars and restaurants in the old city and the old market hall with its many shops and restaurants is just across the street. The room and bed were comfortable and the shower was excellent. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for a solo traveler or a couple especially for convenient access to the port and Buquebus (to Buenos Aires).

The hotel is overrated. There were mosquitoes and spiders in the room, the room was not clean. U see the bed was pretty filthy. The shower leaked. It was noisy - doors and room cleaning in the middle of the night. Breakfast was good and the staff was polite but I just would not recommend this hotel.

Se não fosse a localização e o café da manhã, esse teria sido o pior hotel que já fiquei em toda minha vida. Quarto com mofo sem possibilidade de trocar, o roof top bar e piscina fechados eternamente. Dá pra escutar tudo os quartos ao lado, parece um motel. POS’s: Easy walk to/from BS AS ferry, close to the market & tourist info. Hot water in abundance, walk-in shower, bed was okay not stellar. NEG’s: Bed on a platform not well supported, lack of attention to detail, light fixtures don’t work, odds and ends broken or in disrepair, dust bunnies abound, soundproofing inadequate, they play Muzak in the common areas from 7 am onwards. I do give them credit for trying to make it at that location in the otherwise forgotten and slowly gentrifying Cuidad Vieja. I complained about being bitten in the unkempt first room I was assigned. No attempt to move me until I packed up and said I’d write a bad Expedia review. A better customer service response would have ameliorated the situation.

We loved our stay directly across from El Puerto de Montevideo. Be sure to stop in for amazing food and drink, as well as souvenirs! The staff is very friendly, and even though we were there in the winter, we took advantage of the rooftop pool area for some sunshine and relaxation. The Indoor Coffee Shop next door is a great place to start your day in the old town!

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. On the very first day, I stepped on a piece of glass, a clear indication of inadequate cleaning. The property itself was in disrepair, with unstable shower bars, broken drains, and damaged chairs. The in-room phone was out of order, compounding our frustrations. Despite displaying the do not disturb sign daily, the cleaning staff persistently knocked on our door and disregarded our request for privacy. Although the Don Hotel advertised a 24-hour laundry service, the staff refused to wash guest clothing unless specifically instructed by the owner, resulting in delays that made the service virtually unusable. It would be less frustrating if the hotel did not offer laundry service at all. Mara, a key front desk employee, consistently treated us with rudeness and a lack of professionalism during every interaction. To make matters worse, security staff aggressively confronted us in our own room, which I later learned was instigated by Mara. Feeling unsafe and unwelcome, we decided to leave early and checked into another hotel, where we finally received the courtesy and respect we expected from the start.

A localização do hotel é perfeita, de frente ao mercado do Porto, com farmácias, restaurantes, supermercados bem próximos, a noite é bem deserto, porém Montevideo é uma cidade muito segura. O atendimento é 10/10 todos muito atenciosos e falam um portunhol bem compreensivo. As instalações do hotel, são simples porém muito limpas. Quartos aquecidos, água quente. Tivemos uma experiência incrível na cidade. Uma obs: o café da manhã é a Lá carte, tudo fresquinho novo e quente ❤️ o terraço tem uma vista linda.

Não costumo dar relatos, mas o hotel merece! Não tínhamos grande expectativa pois vimos comentários ruins mas o hotel surpreendeu em tudo. Água quente, aquecedor (estava muito frio), estacionamento gratuito (ficamos 4 dias), café da manhã INCRÍVEL!!!! Nem sabíamos que tinha direito ao café. Chamo a atenção para os funcionários Diego, Miguel e o homem que trabalha no café da manhã. Eles foram muito atenciosos e prestativos. Parece um lugar mais para casal, ou pequenos grupos. Fomos apenas eu e minha mãe, e nos surpreendemos por tudo. O hotel fica em frente ao Mercado do Porto e na esquina de uma rua super movimentada. Nos sentimos seguras, mas o pessoal da recepção informou que era mais tranquilo andarmos apenas nas principais e não nas paralelas mais vazias. Tudo perfeito, obrigada!
