I likes how close the location is to hiking trails. I thought the "Breakfast Included" that was listed in the promotion was a complete let down. Having a few apples and packaged muffins considered as a continental breakfast was absolutely misleading.

OId Fashioned and Cleanliness to Perfection
The room was spotless, bed was firm and in great shape. Water was hot and all the drains worked. The sink was very low to the floor (good for children) and could hear folks above us. The proprietor was delightful and eager to make our stay a satisfying experience. Breakfast is very simple, coffee, pre-packaged muffins, bananas. Rooms could use a modern upgrade for aesthetic purposes.

Mike, the proprietor of The Montour Falls Motel was great! He had great suggestions as to places to eat and and answered all our other questions. The property is well managed, and Mike goes to great lengths to assure his guests enjoy their stay.

The Falls Motel is located very conveniently in Montour Falls, within walking distance of a large waterfall, and some great dining options. Watkins Glen (town and park) is about 5 minutes away by car. As for the motel itself, the motel is clean and pretty well maintained. The manager was very friendly and helpful, and had plenty of information regarding local attractions and dining. The room was a good size, and the beds are comfortable, free WiFi is also provided. The only thing that could use some improvement is the bathroom, it needs better lighting and more shelf or counter space to set things down. The cost per night is on-par with many of the other local comparable motels. Overall, a nice place, I would stay again if in the area.

I don't like the fact it sated breakfast is included, but only juicy, coffee, prepacked donut, and a banana or apple is provided to pick up. no setting area for food consumption.

Simple & Clean
The Falls Motel is a nice, clean, simple hotel. Nothing fancy, but we appreciated the closeness to Watkins Glen and points of interest. We would stay again, if in the area.

The clerk was very nice. Hard to understand but, nice. Checkout was 11am and at 1050 we were getting a call from the desk asking if we were leaving or if we wanted another night. I didnt like being rushed. Overall the stay was good. Also need to provide more coffee. We stayed 3 days and had coffee for 1 morning. Coffee was very weak as well. Not very good.

nice!
This is a rather old fashioned motel in perfect condition. The setting is lovely and we enjoyed hiking and exploring nearby towns. The staff (or owner- perhaps) was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was simply packaged muffins and bananas, but we didn’t mind. The hotel was a great value!

Road trip
Stayed for two nights during a last minute road trip to Walking Glen. Clean motel that served it's purpose as some place to shower and sleep after exploring the area. Located about 2 miles(5 min drive) from the main town area and Watkins Glenn State Park.

The staff was very nice. The room was clean. The beds had only two pillows per bed. Four pillows would be helpful since we were a group of four. The price was as high as a higher-class hotel room with a full breakfast.

We stayed at The Falls Motel for 4 nights as our base for exploring Watkins Glen State Park and the surrounding area. The owner and his family greeted us with friendly tips about the attractions nearby and were helpful with getting us settled in the room. We were comfortable and the room had everything we needed. There was a mini fridge that came in handy for keeping snacks for hiking, also a microwave. Nice place, kind people, a clean room with a very nice, comfortable mattress at a reasonable price.

Older property but very nice. Off the busy road but still easy to access Watkins Glen only a few miles up the road. Cool waterfall right near by (walkable). Breakfast is very basic, but coffee was good. I suggest you bring a good size travel mug and take your coffee back to your room to enjoy. (rest of breakfast was pre-packaged muffins and bananas and apples.) We made a quick little trip to the area and enjoyed lots of things to do. Walked the Watkins Glen gorge, did the Corning glass museum and Wings of Eagles. Good dining options in area. Overall a nice little trip and a nice older motel. Great water pressure in shower! Oh an best part....THE WINDOWS OPENED! So able to enjoy fresh air at night. There was an odor of a cleaning product, sort of fruity, not terrible and much better then other odors I have sometimes had in hotels. I would go back.
