Unique building for hostel experience in the university quarter.

Grey Nuns Residence is actually Concordia university apartment, centrally located in Montreal downtown, busy and very convenient, minutes walk to metro station. I lived in the 4/F., but it is top floor, very hot in this summer. For us, it is fine because we went out every day and back to our room after 10pm. But if you want to stay in the afternoon, go to find somewhere else. Room is really big, we had two single beds, two study desk with chairs, one washing basins, but no private bathroom, no A/c, common shower room, toilet, completely college feel, nothing luxury! Get key and self service. Beware of parkings are only available during weekdays, $10 all day( not bad), but not available during weekend. However, it is terribly to find parking during Friday & Sat nights.

Vamos por partes , en primer lugar entender que es una escuela que en temporada de vacaciones la utilizan para recaudar fondos rentándola como alojamiento ,así que sobra decir que es una instalación antigua que el piso rechina todo el tiempo y tiene una falta de mantenimiento enorme , cosa que no los justifica de brindar un servicio con los mínimos requeridos. La limpieza des habitaciones fatal , debajo de la cama jamás habían limpiado , la ropa de cama llena de polvo , porque evidentemente no tienen una alta ocupación de huéspedes y llevaban tiempo puesta esas sábanas y la habitación cerrada ( sufri una crisis alérgica horrible por la cantidad de polvo que habían en esas sábanas y la habitación ) , la puerta , al menos la de mi habitación apenas cerraba , de hecho si apagabas las luces venías toda la luz de fuera , además de que se sentía constantemente ruido si alguien caminaba pero bueno , eso era inevitable , pero si me sentía demasiado inseguro dejando mis cosas allí porque como tampoco había cámaras de seguridad en casi ningún lugar pues cualquiera empujaba la puerta y me podían vaciar la habitación , todo el tiempo tuve esa preocupación con mis documentos Los baños si puedo decir que estuvieron limpios la mayor parte de tiempo. Otra cosa , la página pone textualmente “ en este establecimiento podrá comunicarse en varios idiomas entre ellos inglés y español “ totalmente falso en ninguno de los días encontré a nadie personal del alojamiento que supiera español .

Great spot. No AC but if you can handle it. Its worth it. Also the shared bathroom was never an issue. If you really want an in suite bathroom then pay the extra 40 a night. But 80 a night so worth it.

not recommend during the hot summer as there is no AC. I had to keep the window opened, but very small flies came through the window screen, I got rashes from these flies. and the fan was very noisy. Could not sleep at all during the night, so I had to cancel the remaining nights. However, the location is very good and convenient.

Inexpensive college dorm rooms that are used as hotel-type housing while school is out for the summer. Good workspace area with good lighting for doing deskwork. Conveniently located within easy walking distance of Metro stop and many dining establishments.

Good things: - location (close to public transit and St. Catherine street) - value for money - Check-in time is like 3 oo 4 PM. I reached around 12 noon and yet the room was ready for me. - Staff is fluent in English. What's not great?: - no attached bathroom/toilet - No AC - No option to get the room cleaned while you are staying. - I requested they keep my suitcase (since checkout time is 11 AM and my train departure was at 6 PM) and I'll come collect it later in the day. I was told that's not an option either.
