The Fehnlandschaft Moormerlands is characterized by canals, Wieken and the Fehn-typical bascule bridges. Signposted cycling and hiking trails amidst a great natural landscape want to be explored on foot, by bike or by boat. A tourist highlight is the Ems barrage in Gandersum. Here you can experience the latest technology. Cruise ships of the Meyer shipyard get over the Ems barrage in the big wide world. Culturally Moormerland has a lot to offer, eg. For example, the Museum Alte Seilerei, the lock, the pumping station and the Old Libra in Oldersum, the Gallerieholländerwindmühlen in Neermoor and Warsingsfehn, the Museum Hueitens Huus and numerous churches and historic cemeteries.
