"The place meets minimal expectations. Primarily the room and bed were clean, which is what I needed most. The rest of the building is old (probably built in the '70's) so it shows its age in places. The hallway carpeting on the 2nd floor was pretty stained-up; could use a good shampooing. Not sure how other floors looked. Inside the room there were chips in the bathtub finish and on the floor tile, just due to being old but still usable. Ottoman had shoe stains on it. Otherwise, the room was clean so that's most important. The thing that bothered me most is the room's flooring was fake hardwood. Wasn't most pleasant to step on a cold floor in the morning. Plus I'm sure that fake hardwood doesn't help muffle noises from other rooms. No other guests were obnoxiously loud but I did wake up to my neighbor getting up/scuffling around his-or-her room at 4AM. I'm sure that noise would've been significantly less IF our rooms had carpet in them. But the fake hardwood was clean and dust-free so that's most important! Breakfast was good - scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, cereals (I had raisin bran), apples, toast, bagles, orange/apple juice dispenser, lemon water, coffee...enough choices to get your day started. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I only contacted them for check-in, later when I couldn't remember my room number, another time when my room card quit working, and check-out; all positive interactions. In all, not the Four Seasons, but worth crashing at for a weekend."

"Each year in mid-September we travel from our home in NYC to a lake house location "up north". We look for a secluded location on a smaller lake that is peaceful and quiet - with a "swimmable" dock and waterfront, comfortable accommodations, a grill to grill on, a fire pit to sit by in the evening, and kayaks to spend some relaxing time on the water. This year we found everything we desired and more at Oak Hill. It's important to note that Oak Hill is just like the description on the website. Some listings aren't. The steps down to the house and then on down to the dock/beach are safe and the hand rails are very sturdy, which is not always the case with lake homes. It was perfect for our needs. The house and grounds were immaculate. The beds were extremely comfortable. We made full use of the kayaks, paddle board, and especially enjoyed exploring the lake on the pontoon boat, upon which we enjoyed sunsets with the neighboring loons. When "civilization" was required for supplies, Oak Hill was less than a half-hour's scenic drive from anything we needed. We highly recommend Oak Hill."

"Gorgeous house and property. Has everything you could possibly need! Extremely clean and comfortable. Communication was superior and very responsive and accommodating. We would return but the stairs to dock (new and very nice) were numerous making it difficult (for us) to navigate several times a day to use dock for fishing, swimming or boating."
