“OMG the breakfast. So good. Local jams and honey and everything. And the house! So big, my goodness, and so clean and functional. Such nice bathrooms! Kinda a lot of critters in the place, but you don't go touristing in the jungle to avoid critters. A really nice hike on the grounds too, and the complementary family dog to accompany on hikes and show you to your cabaña was awesome.”

“The drive to the hotel was its own adventure but once you drive up the entrance, you will be so glad that you choose Koora. The moment we got out of the car to the moment we had to leave, we felt welcomed and honoured. The staff are amazing and helpful, almost always available. The restaurant is situated to provide views that you would pay for willingly. The food is amazing and the service - unmatched. The room - we got the two room suite - was comfortable and clean; you just need to know that……

“Tolle, neue Zimmer mit Fensterfront. Sehr leckeres Frühstück und nette Mitarbeiter, die gerne Tipps für Restaurants, Touren etc. geben. Die zimmer sind zwar etwas kleiner, aber das Hotel für ein paar Tage sehr zu empfehlen. Restaurants, Bars, Supermarkt, Arzt, Aktivitäten direkt in der Nähe und zum Teil nur wenige Meter entfernt. Vielen Dank! ”

“Clean, large room. Friendly staff helped to book outings and transportation. No A/C which I was worried about but did not need due to cooler nighttime temperatures. Excellent breakfast. We really enjoyed our large private patio. Most outstanding grounds, hidden from main road, flowers and plants everywhere. Easy walk into Santa Elena.”

“This place is such a magical spot, hidden in the valley below Santa Elena (down some insane steep gravel hills I might add). Once there though you are in a little piece of paradise in a treehouse in the woods all to yourself, with breakfast brought to your room every morning. Fun place!”

“We had a great stay at Las Marias Cottages in Monteverde. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a peaceful place to relax while still being close to town and local attractions. The hosts, Alexander and Maria, were warm, responsive, and very helpful with local recommendations. Overall, a wonderful experience and a place we would happily stay at again. Highly recommended.”

“We loved everything about our stay at Sibu Boutique hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly. The hotel is very well maintained and thoughtfully designed. Monteverde can be very windy, however we had a finished balcony that was protected from the wind by glass, so it was easy to enjoy the outdoor space despite weather conditions. The restaurant was excellent, with a cooked to order breakfast included in your stay. Also included were beer, wine, drinks and snacks in our room. Literally……

“This hotel was great for our stay in Monteverde. It was a bit removed from the middle of town but close enough. Our tours were only 10-20 mins drive away. Staff were incredibly helpful and even improvised breakfast for a day we had a very early start. ”

The staff was amazing and attentive (especially Hamid and Kevin), the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible, the bedding was great, and the grounds made you feel like you were on a retreat. We loved the intimate feel and getting to know the staff. We were sad to leave but look forward to the opportunity to return!”

“What an adorable hotel!! We stayed at the treehouse and it was marvelous - windows all around, beautiful greenery outside, a wonderful hammock to sit and relax in. Keep in mind, the hotel is not a walking distance from center of town but if you have a car, the super short drive is well worth it. Cosy and sweet ”
