Only one nice thing....the pool. Villa needs a refurb !
The villa is large , the grounds are stunning , the pool is great. Great for a large family. That’s the positive parts. The handover was difficult due to the language difficulties. No information to help with local area and only info about the villa was wifi password.
First impressions were the size of the villa and the beautiful pool and gardens. But as we settled in we realised there were problems. The beds were very basic and uncomfortable and given the cost of the holiday we expected better. The bedding is very poor and towels were thinning. Water pressure upstairs was so low we couldn’t use showers. Taps and radiators were rusty.
The downstairs bathroom had a replacement modern shower which leaked and had blocked causing flooding. Also had a bad smell of drains! When the hot water packed up the owner responded quickly to repair but ignored our complaints about the drains and failed to do anything.
Although they advertise satellite TV don’t believe it. Apart from dozens of porn sites only English Channel was the News! Therefore having all the TVs in bedrooms is pointless !
No DVDs to play in the machine for children either.
The rattan sofas covered in orange blankets were too uncomfortable and the dining room chairs also uncomfortable.
Kitchen is very basic with lack of cupboards and work area. A pleasant courtyard off the kitchen and large dining room with doors opening to patio were lovely.
We were plagued with mosquitoes at end of October which is unusual. However when you walk around the local area you notice there’s a water treatment place nearby the villa potentially drawing in mosquitoes.
The pool is clean And large but very cold. Too many flower pots sitting around which made us feel nervous with 3 young children. Table tennis table was used.
We have only booked through homeaway in the UK before and found the standards and experience of this booking and villa disappointing. It needs much TLC and replacement bathrooms, beds , linen , and kitchen . The utensils glassware and crockery were incomplete and we struggled to find enough equipment for our needs. Tumble dryer doesn’t work well but washing machine was adequate.
With 3 young children in our group we experienced an accident breaking a bedside lamp. The garden flower pot fell over on the patio and broke. This had previously been repaired. We reported it to owners.
Won’t be recommending this villa.
Would return to the area though.
