Alex and his mother have a beautiful property with macadamia nuts and fruit trees that you can eat from. Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable. I wish we could have spent a little more time, as we were only there for 1 night. Would reccomend.

The room was clean. The staff were amazing. Kelly and Alex are so friendly and accommodating. Picking fruit and collecting macadamia nuts was a fun adventure. The pool was awesome. The dogs were super friendly and my kids loved them. There was no AC, but the room stayed a decent temperature as long as we kept the windows open and the fan going. We were in the Volcano room, so it probably helped that we were downstairs and the sun wasn't ever shining directly in our room.

Kellie was truly welcoming and accommodating, giving us a tour around the place when we arrived. Such a lovely and unique stay, and it was an added bonus that we were able to go foraging for fresh macadamia nuts in the yard! Truly like paradise. The location is also a great place for stargazing at night. Thank you again, Kellie!

Memorable stay!

This is a small resort on a beautiful property! The owner is on site and she’s friendly and always gave information about things to do and places see. There are several fruit and nut trees on the property that she allows you to pick from. Great place overall!

This property is midway between Volcano and Kona off of Rt 11. It has beautiful grounds and the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. It’s fairly remote so you must drive to whatever you need. The room was spacious and clean. There’s no air conditioning and it was uncomfortably humid in the room. The shower is very narrow and the bathroom is up 3 steps in the room. Morning coffee didn’t offer much in terms of milk or cream, just flavored containers of half/half. However, there’s a great bakery in town for espresso coffee and treats.

The owner Kelly was very friendly and helpful to give us advice about local activities. The room is clean and spacious, and offers free good coffee and tea. We had a very good time here!

We enjoyed our stay here at Hawaii Island Resort, it was pretty remote but between volcanos park and the airport so we picked this location. The hosts showed us how to look for and crack macadamia nuts but we only each found one edible one but it was fun trying! Beautiful property. There are a lot of amenities in the main house that we didn’t use but I’d imagine would be amazing to have a few friends staying at the property too it would be a very fun chill space to hang out in. The bed was comfortable and the room was minimal, we slept with the windows letting in all the night sounds (no A/C but breeze was cool enough at night and there was a fan that was good enough). The experience gave us a more true Hawaii experience than a hotel would have. This place is more like an Airbnb than a hotel. It’s cool that it is listed on Expedia. Not sure if there are restaurants nearby but we did catch a farmers market on our way in in the closest town which had a lot of good prepared foods.
