stayed there for a short honeymoon, and worked out perfectly, very close to the beach with easy access. beached were beautiful, the cabin was ok, dated a bit but not run down and everything was in order and worked.

The wrap around porch with direct beach access was phenomenal. We took our dog. And used a baby gate on the stairs, and she was able to be out there whenever we were. Cabin 7 was very comfortable and was close to many restaurants that were excellant.

The Sand Spur was in the perfect location. The beach is very easy to access, and the pool was a nice addition. It was fairly quiet, and the staff were friendly. There is some age of the building showing through, but the overall stay was perfect for exploring the Outer Banks.

Super convenient location and easy access to the beach. So nice they had extra locks on the screens so you can leave the door open even with your dog in the room and they can’t push the door open.

This property is so cute and so close to Nags Head Beach! The property manager, Cindy, was really responsive to our needs (extra pillows, a broom to sweep the sand in our room, etc). The only negative was all the people smoking outside of their rooms made it hard to enjoy the turquoise Adirondack chairs and Edison bulb string lights, but there’s nothing the property can do about that. I would definitely recommend this property!

The cottage was very cute and tidy. It was nice having a small kitchen and sitting area. Beds were comfortable and had enough storage space. Access to the beach was so convenient and lovely at night. Steps from Jeanettes pier, the location was great! Only complaint was lack of staff in the office when we lost power, no way to contact the office.

This is our second time staying at the Sand Spur and we love it. The staff is helpful and kind. The place is clean and well maintained for being right on the beach. Location is excellent! Just walk bare feet to the beach. Pool is small but just what you need. The only thing I would recommend is bring some extra kitchen utensils/cup, etc. the kitchen has a couple of pots and pans but few dishes. We also brought our own cleaning sponge. Beds are comfy and linens clean. Strong AC and fans. Very family oriented!

Our “cottage” was a bit run down but certainly habitable. If it were mine, I’d gut it and do a complete remodel. It needed it. Beds were comfy. Location was good. Less than a minute walk to the beach which was accessible from the property. If you don’t need luxury, then you’ll be fine here, but if you’re looking for a 4 or 5 star, this ain’t it.

I can appreciate a place with "character" but I cannot appreciate septic tank smells the first 36 hours and a large (1/2 inch or more) gap around the locking side of the front door. It could be picked open. The draft was strong coming in as well as all the outside noise allowed to enter through. There are no working vents in the bathrooms or kitchen area. Half of the light bulbs were out. The couch and chair smelled terrible in the living area. The porch was nice, but the canopy overhead is quite loud in the wind. It slams the metal clip into the metal gutter and it woke my child up multiple times in a night. The place was clean enough other than the septic smell and the dining table being sticky no matter what we did.
Everything else was fine. If I was alone I would not have cared. I hope this is only an issue with the Deluxe Apartment attached to the their office.

This is an off season review: there was no staff available for check-in but a note on the front door explaining to call. When we arrived, we happened to see a staff person who got us settled into our room. The fridge didn't work and there was no ice available at this location or the sister hotel next door because of renovations. This is probably a great property when I'm season since it has a nice pool and walking distance to the beach. The room was clear.
