"I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Iriomote. There's lots of space on the property, including a massive bathroom and a huge terrace, with a sea view where you can see the stars at night. There's also lots of wildlife that can be easily seen from many areas on the property, for example frogs and coconut crabs. "The whole resort is absolutely stunning - the food, the staff, the views, the beach, the activities - all perfect. Such an idyllic location - also so much fun having your own golf cart for the entire stay. We cannot thank the resort enough for such an incredible time here."

"Staff was very friendly and the room was clean. The property grounds and pool are very nice. The beds and pillows are hard as a rock so sleeping was less than comfortable. The room was also very warm even with the air conditioning set at 19C. We had to use the stand fan and dehumidifier the entire time so that was less than desirable. The breakfast buffet is overpriced at ¥2800 per person for what was offered. Not very many options for foreigners who don’t eat traditional Japanese breakfasts. Coffee in the room in addition to tea would also be nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay despite those minor things. The onsite Yakiniku restaurant was very good!! "

"A quaint and comfortable property. The house and surrounding property were pleasant with good outdoor amenities (deck, tables, chairs, etc). There was a minor hiccup with access when I arrived, but it was quickly resolved. Some additional cooking pots would have been nice as only frying pans were available for the stove which limited my cooking options. Overall a good property and a positive experience."

"Hoshinoya Taketomi fue una experiencia hermosa y aún más especial porque celebramos nuestro aniversario de 10 años allí. La isla es espectacular y el servicio fue excelente. Queremos agradecer especialmente a Sara, quien nos ayudó desde el check-in y siempre estuvo dispuesta a orientarnos con información del hotel y de la isla. Muy amable y siempre dispuesta a ayudar. Gracias por hacer nuestra estadía aún más especial."

"Very homey bed and breakfast run by the sweetest couple. Very good location - minutes walk to Fusaki beach, 15 minute drive to the city/ishigaki port, and 15-20 minute drive north where many of the best sights are. Homemade, traditional breakfast included in the already very budget friendly stay. Friendly shiba dog and cats, beautiful garden. Great find!"
