“Writing this review to quiet some of the concerns of the previous reviewer… this rental was amazing! First, the views cannot be beat and the outdoor deck living space is just wonderful. It is the highest location in this particular spot of Basti, with amazing views and a breeze. It’s basically a very unique tropical jungle treehouse high above the town. “Old Bank is a community of contrasts. The Jamaican heritage was great, people generally friendly, and genuine. The downside was the massive piles of garbage strewn along the walkways and ocean. “Upon arrival.. the property floors was covered in dust and debris. The sheets and pillows on the bed in the master bedroom was filthy and had a terrible smell of a man body odor. Master bathroom smell like old urine and the mirror had white spots on it. Both master bathroom rugs was dirty and had black debri on them. “Wonderful spot, basic accommodation. Very clean and comfortable. Our room had a nice deck but being set back didn’t get nearly as good a breeze as the shared deck space further out over the water. You can organize tours and water taxis to pick you up right there. Rebecca, the manager, is lovely and very helpful in organizing taxis and sharing information ”
