Beautiful location and views with excellent service. The coffee tour with Jose was interesting and fun. The bed was actually comfortable! We also loved playing fetch with the dog Chayote. Food at the restaurant was delicious with good portions.

We had a very relaxing and pleasant stay at the lodge. We only wish we could have stayed longer. The views were magnificent. The hospitality, decor, landscape, and the food are intentionally conscientious.

Outstanding experience. We arrived in San Jose and wanted to catch our breath before our 3 hour drive the next day. Chayote Lodge was exceptional. Great view, very nice restaurant on property, comfortable beds and great sheets. Chayote, the canine greeter, is delightful. Lovely!

Great property, felt like home, Rosy gave us an amazing culinary experience and all the staff are friendly, efficient and overall make the experience even more pleasent. All the details are perfect and it was a lovely time.

My wife and loved this property. The views are amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend it. The property is an experience in itself. Great if you like epic views, sun rises/sets, or love open skies.

Just a brilliant but expensive boutique hotel. Suites are all based on coffee receiving stations and are brilliantly designed. Food pretty good. Views to die for!! Only issue is they need a pool

Perched on a mountain overlooking the emeral green landscape of the property and San Jose, Chayote Lodge is a gift from the gods. Beginning with the friendly greeting by Roberto upon arrival to the breathtaking view from our suite and then to the gastronomic delights in the dining room, this boutique with individual suites is paradise. Where else can you be lulled to sleep and awaken to the sound of birds and flutter of butterflys all around you. We can't wait to return.

Staying at the Chayote Lodge is all about the views. Each coffee inspired cabin has 100 mile views across the valley all the way to San Jose. You're well off the road so you may see a random car, traffic noise isn't a part of the experience. The staff was typical Costa Rica friendly and the food in the restaurant was wonderful. Our only suggestion, is if you offer a sunrise birder's tour, someone should be there or let you know it's not happening.

The stay was good. Walking the property, I really wanted to give a few ideas for improvement. The yoga area was pretty but needed a good re-fresh. There's no way anyone would want to do yoga there, in the condition that it was in. Needs a good power washing and re-staining of the deck, and the pond was full of leaves - could use a good cleaning and maybe some koi. The view from the room was incredible. The dog on the property was friendly and fun, but did bark at night. The owner was onsite and having a very lively conversation with a woman (we think about marketing). Maybe they were trying to figure out ways to get more clients? Whatever they were discussing should've been done in private, not in the restaurant in front of customers. Was a little uncomfortable.

La habitación se encontraba sucia, ropa de cama con mal olor y pisos empolvados, el shampoo MALO. Al ser la hora del check out presionando para abandonar la habitación lo más rápido posible, no hay cambiador para bebés en el hotel ni en el restaurante.

Pequeño hotel en la cima de una loma con todas las habitaciones con vista a los volcanes, la mejor opción para pasar unos dias gozando de Costa Rica suficientemente alejado de la ciudad pero cerca del aeropuerto. Su personal muy amigable y orgullosos de su hotel, muy respetuoso con el medio ambiente rodeado de cafetales. Arquitectura muy interestante recordando a los "recibidores" de café. Jardines muy bonitos y el restaurante integrado al espacio con una carta muy amplia.

Lovely place!

Our stay at chayote lodge was amazing. All the staff we encountered were so lovely, helpful and welcoming. Chayote the dog was there to welcome us on arrival!! Beautiful room with such a lovely view - amazing hidden gem - so peaceful. Loved waking up with the natural light and the sound of the birds! The food at the restaurant was also delicious and breakfast was wonderful too. Would definitely recommend!!
