“This ryokan was beautiful with a spacious room and great mountain views. The onsen was particularly nice with indoor and outdoor mineral baths, a cold plunge, and a sauna. There was also a private shower in our room if you aren’t interested in the onsen experience. The half board was good but served traditional local Japanese food - great for the adventurous eater but it may not be for everyone. “Nagataki is a compound of several "hundreds of years old" typical houses connected through walkable paths and integrated with nature. You can truly feel the "old" and "nature" vibe all across the property. “We stayed two nights with 2 meals included. Dinner is buffet with four kinds of snow crab. This never appear in other Japan hotel. One suggestion is the roast beef is pre-cut and is cool when served. Onsen is good and big but no ice pool. Overall, value for money choice.”
