Great place
My husband and I travelled with 4 other couples to ride side by sides at the local OHV trails. This house is even better than the pictures show. The kitchen was equipped with everything we could have ever wanted to prepare food. We swam in the pond and grilled out on the provided traeger grill. We had the best time and plan to be back!!! This is easily one the best hidden gems in IL.

Amazing Family Weekend!
Sweet Water Lodge exceeded our expectations! The lodge itself is beautiful, modern, clean & has so many extra amenities. The pond is wonderful for swimming, fishing & just relaxing. The adults & children both enjoyed the lilly pad, water trampoline & the rocket. The porch area is large & offers plenty of rocking chairs to relax & visit. Jennifer & Chris (owners) were incredibly welcoming & were very responsive to answering any questions. Just wonderful hospitality!! Just can’t say enough good things about our experience & the awesome host. Highly recommend Sweet Water Lodge for a family getaway! Will definitely be returning.

Wonderful place to stay
Fantastic accommodations, wonderful hospitality, great time had by all. Love staying at Sweet Water Lodge and can’t say enough good things about the lodge and the owners. This was our second year there and we will for sure return next year!

Great and peaceful place
We chose this location for our annual friends trip and it did not disappoint. The owners are extremely nice. Everything was clean and so many extra amenities. 10/10 recommend this location.

Awesome Country Cabin
We had two families, one from WI and one from TN. This was location was about halfway for both families. The adults and the kids had an amazing time swimming, fishing, and relaxing at this quiet get-a-way. Highly Recommend. We will be booking again.

Beautiful Lodge
The lodge is beautiful, clean and modern in a quiet beautiful setting. Chris and Jennifer are great hosts - very friendly, welcoming and answered any questions we had.
Our family of 5 enjoyed Thanksgiving at the lodge. Playing board games at night, hiking/fishing and activities in the big yard during the day.
Highly recommend for a quiet getaway.

Family Getaway!
My husband and I along with our 3 adult children and their families and pets enjoyed our Labor Day holiday at the Sweet Water Lodge. Chris and Jennifer welcomed us when we arrived and were very nice. The bedroom and bathroom layout worked out great for everyone and they very much enjoyed how convenient the fishing was right out the front door. Competition was fierce for the biggest catch! Morning coffee rocking on the porch was quiet time for my husband that he absolutely enjoyed. Very peaceful surrounding. Glad we could get away for a few days, enjoy the time with family and relax.

Fantastic stay
We stayed at the lodge during a ranger riding trip in Nebo. The lodge was beautiful, in a great location, and the pond right out the front door was amazing. We had kids aged 13-7 and they had a blast at the pond as did the adults. Chris and Jennifer were amazing hosts and they made us feel right at home. We will be staying here again!

Great house in a beautiful secluded location
5 couples had a fantastic stay! Beautiful location and great house! The pond is very fun with lily pad and aqua glide “rock it”! Plenty of rocking chairs and a perfect campfire location.
Very considerate hosts who went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. The house is very nice and clean. Plenty of supplies and space (two refrigerators was very helpful). Ideal trip! We plan to return!
Tip: pack all of your food because a large grocery store is pretty far away.

A little piece of heaven right here!
The house is amazing, clean and a nice quiet location! We loved our adult weekend getaway and will definitely be back! Thank you Chris & Jennifer for being amazing hosts and showing us around! The pond was fun to swim in on those 100 degree days there! Hopefully next time we won't be down a Rzr 😓, still had a great time though! See you soon!

Heaven on earth
Once a year , my family of 10 adults, two children and Rae, the dog rent a place we can all be together for a long weekend. This year we visited Sweetwater Lodge. It was so perfect!! So beautiful and fun. Swimming, fishing, hiking, all the things our family loves!! With "trampoline rafts" in the beautiful lake , all the water toys you could want, very clean lake water and sand beach. Then you go into the lodge, and it takes your breathe away, so beautiful. With comfortable mattresses in every bedroom, FIVE bedrooms, some with two beds. Three sparkling clean bathrooms, Master bathroom is amazing with huge tub and shower. A chef's kitchen, and everything is so very well stocked. You only need a few clothes( there is a washer and dryer) and the food you are going to eat. A wonderful place to connect with family.

Perfect Extended Family Vacation
The layout was perfect for our extended family gathering. The kids (ages 3-12) enjoyed the little beach area, swimming in the pond, and fishing. The adults enjoyed the fire pit and stars each night. And, my favorite, the property was clean!

Wanted to get away from my busy life and it was totally delivered. The place was beautiful and peaceful. The owners were so nice and accommodating. I totally enjoyed my get away and would recommend this place to anyone that wants to escape. I want to plan a yearly return once a year to unwind. Love being there!

Best Country Living Vacation
Beautiful property with a pond for fishing and swimming and paddle boating. Shouse/lodge was spacious and well-furnished. Loved the kitchen area and the 5 bedrooms & 3 baths for our family of 10. Just perfect for us! Hosts were very gracious and generous and available anytime - we enjoyed their hospitality and getting to know them. Would definitely recommend this country vacation setting for everyone!

Wow! This lodge was just the slice of heaven we were looking for!
We wanted a getaway that was secluded and peaceful. This gem hit the bullseye. It was beautiful and so comfortable, from the electric theater chairs, huge tv, to the master suite shower and tub, and very comfortable bed. It was stocked with everything you could possibly need - from gas grill, charcoal grill, wine fridge, keurig coffee pot and a regular coffee pot, gas stovetop, double oven, washer/dryer, fire pit (with wood furnished), dock, paddleboat, sandy beach, deer, turkeys, a stocked fishing pond. The outdoor furniture was very comfortable and even outdoor fans were provided. It was very spacious, very well decorated and is perfect for a family gathering, couples gathering, girls weekend, or whatever you could possibly want to do. I would recommend that you bring your own groceries, as it truly is in the middle of the country. We were so glad we did not have to leave to go out to dinner! The hosts were very attentive and friendly, and met us when we arrived to explain everything. I highly recommend experiencing this wonderful getaway. We will definately be back ! I wish I could post pictures of this beautiful place!

Family group of ladies
This place was beautiful. Don’t be fooled by the pole barn exterior as every amenity was included inside, well stocked and clean. Perfect for a get together of family members that wanted to stick around and visit. This is our 10th year at various locations and this was one of the best we have rented. We will return! Jennifer and Chris were pleasant and helpful when they met us to let us in. They stopped by once to see if we needed anything and Chris’s dad gave us some chestnuts to take home. What a great spot!

Great getaway property!
Fantastic getaway for our group of five brothers and nephews! Well equipped and maintained. Great fishing and relaxation. Owners are some of the nicest people you’ll want to meet. Thank you for sharing your property with us! We enjoyed learning about the history of Sweetwater. Already talking about making plans to visit again!

Great weekend!
My family (9 of us), stayed at Sweet Water Lodge last weekend. The lodge is beautiful!
Very spacious with top end appliances. Open kitchen/family room with large flatscreen tv and fireplace. The lodge setting is spectacular. It's on a spring fed pond with lots of fish. I caught (and released) several nice sized bass. Dock and sand beach are steps from the front door. Grandsons (and Grandpa) had a blast playing in the sand and water. There's a paddle boat for cruising around the pond. I think my favorite part of the lodge is the huge covered porch with ceiling fans and comfortable rockers. I spent alot of time there thinking about nothing!
