Modern, cozy and central in the most beautiful house in town

In a stately building dating from 1870—the most beautiful house in town—we have created a modern loft apartment for you, open to the exposed roof beams.
The building has served various purposes over the years. For a long time, a distillery was located here, hence the name. The facade is elaborately adorned with local basalt and fine stucco work. The woodwork is intricate, and the metalwork comes from the Sayn Ironworks, an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The apartment was completely rebuilt in early 2023. It is located on the 3rd floor. You’ll find the original exposed beams and the restored historic flooring. All the historic materials we discovered were restored and incorporated into the apartment. The entire apartment is bathed in light and bright.
The modern kitchen features a dishwasher, oven, and induction stove. In the living room, you’ll find a cosy corner with an UHD TV. The sleeping area is elevated and accessible via a small staircase.
You’ll have free high-speed internet with Wi-Fi.
You’ll be staying in the heart of the city, above the rooftops of the princely town of Neuwied, close to the Rhine.
In the city centre, you’ll find a lively pedestrian zone, recurring themed markets, and beer gardens both in the city and right on the Rhine.
From here, you can explore the Middle Rhine wine region, the Vulkaneifel hiking region with Lake Lacher at its centre, the Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage Site with Koblenz and its castles and fortresses, the Limes World Heritage Site, and four low mountain ranges. In addition to its international flair and many restaurants, Neuwied offers a beautiful zoo, historic buildings, wine-growing villages with opportunities for wine tasting, and the famous Brombeerschenke. For families and sports enthusiasts, there is an indoor ice rink and a large swimming pool with a sauna area.
In the neighbouring towns, visitors can enjoy the largest cold-water geyser in Andernach, the Volcano Museum in Mendig, Eltz Castle, Lake Laach, and Maria Laach Abbey. In Koblenz, visit the Old Town, Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, and the "Deutsches Eck" with its cable car. In Bendorf, you can see Sayn Castle with its butterfly garden. The Kannenbäcker Land region entices visitors with its shopping opportunities and exceptional cuisine.
In less than an hour, you can reach the former federal capital of Bonn, the Siebengebirge mountains, the episcopal city of Limburg, and, a little further on, the Roman city of Trier. Hiking enthusiasts will find a nearly endless network of trails in the Wied Valley, along the Rheinsteig, and on various "Traumpfade" (Dream Trails).
