Love this location and home

Fell in Love with this house. It was so comfortable and very clean. Felt very safe in neighborhood and Park was walking distance. Would love to stay there again!

Holiday Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. We felt comfortable and welcomed from the start. Our kids and us had space to spread out and the home is just a short drive away from everything we wanted to do.

Perfect place!

We had a great stay here while in town to celebrate a bachelorette party. We were able to walk to great places around the Bywater and use an Uber/Lyft for everything else. The host was wonderful and everything was clean and nice. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Great stay in the Bywater

This was a great location and property. We loved the house and Daniel was a great host. The house was being painted the week we were there but the painters were very respectful and were quite friendly. The beds were so comfortable and the back patio was a nice. We were a large group and everyone enjoyed the accommodations.

Amazing spot, amazing location!!

This was the perfect spot for our girls trips! The place looks even better in person and was perfect for our party of 4. We had plenty of space, it was clean, and we appreciated having the basics taken care of (shampoo, conditioner, coffee). The location was also perfect. We spent the day at the Country Club pool and ate at some amazing neighborhood spots (Markey’s crawfish boil and Bacchanal were highlights). We generally preferred Bywater over the vibes of the French Quarter. I would absolutely recommend this place and can’t wait to return!!

Perfect Bywater Stay

We loved our time at Dan and John's house. It is a beautiful historic property in an excellent location for enjoying all that the Bywater has to offer. My husband and I were both working remotely and the house was well set up and spacious enough for us both to be on calls and in meetings without disrupting each other. Our dog loved it too!

Location, location, location!

If you enjoy the experience of a residential urban area, this is IT! Bywater is such an amazing community, and the access to coffee shops, eateries, public spaces, etc. is great. And of course, all of the amazing residential architecture - you could spend all day just exploring the surrounding blocks. But with the rest of New Orleans at your fingertips, getting everywhere else is incredibly easy. We had a great stay and would definitely consider a return visit.

Overall a pleasant experience

We were 4 adults who had an interesting time experiencing living in an authentic shotgun house. We got along fine although the layout was not what we were used to. The beds were comfortable and clean. We were able to walk from the house to the French Quarter which was a plus. We found that sounds carried from one side of the duplex to the other on occasion.

Perfect property! This is my 3rd rental experience in New Orleans and the best! Starting with the amazing interactions with Daniel the owner. He just couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The house was lovely and had a great local/historic feel from the hardwood floors to the beautiful greenery outside the windows. The house is very private, large and comfortable. Big beds - quality linens and ceiling fans. We slept great. Just a fantastic location too. Definitely plan on returning to this property.

Great location in the Bywater

This property is located in the heart of the Bywater. The owners are friendly and helpful. They were very responsive to our questions. I didn't realize that there is not a hallway in the house so you have to walk thru each bedroom to get to the back of the kitchen ...a true shot gun house. As we were staying with friends, this was a little odd, but luckily we are BEST friends, so it was humorous for a weekend stay. Great backyard space.

Great location, great property

This house was perfect for our family of four. My husband and I and my two adult girls stayed three nights. We have friends in the neighborhood so it was convenient to visit them. The Bywater district is its own eclectic neighborhood, but only a ten minute drive to the French Quarter. We enjoyed neighborhood coffee shops and restaurants, including The Country Club right across the street. All of the beds were so comfortable! We loved the original character of the house including the high ceilings and claw foot tub. Upon arriving, everything was extremely clean. We had no issues with entering and getting settled in. I would highly recommend this property if you want to experience a cool New Orleans neighborhood while still being close enough to drive to the more touristy areas.

This place is beautiful

This apartment is a gorgeous gem in the traditional shot gun style. The Bywater is a great place to stay. I brought my son and my dog so neighborhood safety is a must and this place fit the bill. It's only about a 25 minute walk from Jackson Square and Crescent Park is right across the street. Easy access to everything. There is shared laundry with the neighbors in the attached apartment. My only complaint is the neighbors have a key to the back porch where the shared laundry is which means they have access to the apartment. There is bolt lock in between the laundry and the apartment but it is hard to reach and my dog kept trying to push it open to go outside. Safety and privacy are a huge deal to me so I would not have rented this apartment if I had known that first, thus the four stars. However, the place is great, the location is great and property managers are great so I wouldn't hesitate to go back and rent the other side that doesn't have the laundry attached to it.

Spring 2024

Our family spent a Spring week at this lovely home. The surrounding Bywater neighborhood & the people we met there were great. Daniel, the homeowner, was terrific. I really appreciated the timely responses to our questions. And his list of recommendations to nearby spots was great too. Very highly recommended!!

Charming Character

This place was adorable and filled with so much character. All the little things and amenities that we needed. The neighborhood was quiet, the AC was perfect, plenty of room for everyone to sprawl out. We looooove the neighborhood and being across the street from the Country Club provided great people watching. It is a bit of a stroll to the quarters, but that didn't bother us. Uber was always 3 minutes away for about $15 each way into the quarter for an Uber XL. The host communicated in such a fast manner, especially when the VRBO app was not working and I couldn't access the entry code. My one suggestion of the entire place would be to figure out the water pressure for the kitchen sink. It was very slow, but we were able to wash our dishes...Just used to a much quicker flow. Overall, loved this place and would stay again.

Great stay!

A group of friends and I stayed here for a long weekend, and we loved it! The property was very clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed being able to walk across the street to use the pool. It was very close to everything we needed to do and wanted to see.

Best of Bywater

Quick stay, perfect spot!

This was my 3rd time in NOLA. Another great spot to stay. The location is really great and plenty of places to eat around within 2-3 min walk. We stayed for two nights and it was just what we needed for our stay. We had our two kids and our dog. There’s a park right up around the corner where our dog was able to do her business and stretch her legs. We Uber’d to the French Quarter for dinner and it took us 3-5 minutes to get there. But, if we were to stay longer there was a pizza place the next street up we would’ve loved to try but it was closed the full day we were there. Thank you Dan, for great communication and a wonderful and accommodating place to stay!
