Childhood revisited.

Having spent time on Balboa Island as a child, it was fun to spend a few days revisiting the island. The price, location and overall experience were good. If you’re looking for a small, quiet apartment with views looking east then I recommend this location.

Great Apartment in Quiet Location with water views

The rental process was very thorough and through an agency and not direct with the owner on VRBO. The apartment was in a great location at the quiet end of the island. An easy 5-8 min walk to the mini Mart and ferry and about 20 mins walk to downtown Balboa..The rental agency were very communicative and easy to deal with. Everything was as described and there is a decent amount of space for a 1 bed apartment. It's an older property but very clean, well maintained and very well fitted out.

What the Doctor Ordered

We stayed for 9 days. The location was great for morning walks around the island, enough space for two to relax and unwind. Nice and bright, just like the photos, and a lovely view of the bay. All the amenities except for a washer/dryer but we have family nearby so it wasn’t a problem. Even parking wasn’t a concern. The bed was great too. It was a little cool so we had to turn the heat on to take the chill out of the morning but everything worked as it should. All in all, simply delightful and we didn’t want to leave.

Great location

Location was fantastic! We rented on Balboa Island for the Boat Parade and all we had to do was walk down the stairs and sit on the sand! The view from the deck was great too! The property could use some attention. Our first impression wasn't good......it smelled horrible when we walked in.....old and musty! We had to leave the windows open to be able to deal with it. Not that clean, all vents were fifty, outdated most everything, old tile in kitchen and bathroom, toilet seat much have been purchased 20 years ago. TV wouldn't turn on so we called, and someone came out, couldn't fix it and left us a tiny tv and said they would be back to replace it and never heard back. 2 of the 4 beach chairs were ripped and need to be thrown away, the sofa tilts forward and is very uncomfortable. We made the best of it, and will be back to the Island, but not going to stay in this property again.

easy rental, nice place with the basics but everything was as expected clean and organized. it was decently hot without A/C so just keep the windows down and thankfully they had a fan we could point directly at us at night

Great location on Balboa Island
