Very conveniently placed for Carisbrooke Castle but alas I was there to work at St Mary’s hospital which was a short drive away. The landlady was very friendly and helpful.

wonderful guest house - castle lodge, Newport, IOW

stayed a single night to attend a family wedding. excellent service on booking in and were given a room upgrade. booked the optional breakfast, which was also excellent. the room was very clean with a very modern bathroom (shower). only slight downside was the bed - a double - we are used to a king size, so slightly tight. overall, i would give top marks to castle lodge and would most certainly stay there again. i would rate it 5 stars - out of five!

Modern guest house

Guest house was very nice, modern rooms. We had the family suite, 2 separate bedrooms, ajoining hall way and bathroom. Food was very good. Off road parking. Could walk into the Town centre and was a 15 minute walk to Carisbrooke castle.

Great family stay near Carisbrooke Castle

Really nice suite of rooms, modern, tasteful, clean. Great breakfasts. Avril was friendly and welcoming. Great location - Carisbrooke castle is just a short walk away.

Welcoming

Breakfast was always good whether we went for cooked or continental. Some noise from other rooms as walls are a bit thin otherwise very clean and comfortable.

High-quality BnB with outstanding service

My friend and I had an amazing time at the Castle Lodge. The room was clean, fresh and of high standard - perfect for the two of us (twin beds). The owner is a very pleasant woman, and she offered nothing but high-standard service. Breakfast was really nice. Amazing location. Although not located in central Newport, it is still very central and close to its surroundings (like Carisbrooke Castle).

a very comfortable, clean and relaxing stay

Castle Lodge was extremely comfortable and relaxing. The house inside and outside look good - modern, very clean and well-cared for- a very beautiful house The staff were lovely and professional. Left you in peace, cooked a wonderful breakfast. It was fairly quiet (my room was above the front door and on one it banged a couple of times and woke me) - but apart from that, I didn't know there were other guests there until I went to breakfast the next morning. To get to the town centre took 15 minutes; bus station - 15 minutes with bus stops less than 5 min walk. I travelled around the island and the bus service was excellent. Newport has all the shops and restaurants that you find in most towns. I

Just what I needed

Over on IOW for work, took opportunity for spin round IOW on bike too. Friendly, professional lady running it. Not a big place but was just what I needed.

Nice guest guest in good location

Good location for touring the island. Owner very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast & if you wanted anything different ,not on display,e.g. Fruit or yoghurt....,you only had to ask. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Lovely pillows too! Excellent pub within walking distance which served good home cooked food at reasonable prices.
