Absolutely lovely stay. Bryan is such an amazing host and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to stay at his beautiful home. The breakfast leaves nothing left to desire and is well proportioned. The bed was very comfortable and the room had ample space and wonderful furnishings. The location is quiet yet very walkable to many restaurants and shops. We were definitely pleased with our stay at the Sarah Kendall House.

A unique and very special property with wonderful hosts, we had a fantastic stay. Our bedroom was in the historic tower and, while full of beautiful antiques and memorabilia, was exceptionally comfortable, especially the bed. And the breakfast was generous and delicious - the table was laden with a huge variety of homemade dishes.
Choose this beautiful guest house for a memorable stay in historic Newport.

Chose for a little anniversary getaway for promximity to wharves etc...as a former B&B owner of a 1780's Saltbox charmed by the descripton & period.
Greeted on the porch by the most lovely male partner of the couple who've owned it for 30+ years.
Almost fainted from heat as we entered, were given a little tour of family history , etc . Baked goods offered.
Climbed very steep tall stairs ( carrying our 2 little bags in our late 70's!- he should not have anyway so all ok but scary!). The AC in the room hadn't been turned on and was prob 90 humid degrees ( very hot 2 days for Newport!).
Had to turn on and leave until it cooled down. Nice long walk around then returned to shower ( no grab bars) & dress for another great din at Mooring.
W 11 am check out took our time, enjoy coffee & bagels/ fruit in room & rested. At 10:35 someone knocked on the door to come in to clean ! Hub let her know we would be out by 11 & asked if we could leave our car in their ( empty ) parking lot for a couple hours ..she said til 1:30 fine!
We looked / called through lobby /kitchen & all of first level to find someone to return the key & comment card. No luck so left thank you note/keys on entry table, put our bags in the car & started our walk. Wanting to let them know we'd left called the phone # (no answer/ recording ) so left
a polite thank you msg. A few minutes later the most rude female voice called back to say move your car/ told her we'd had an ok til 1:30.
" I'm the owner" she's not. Retire?
