"Property itself was great and spacious. The check-in instructions were a little confusing, but we were able to check in and check out without much trouble. The only problem was communicating if we needed anything - we ran out of body wash and we left a note on our door because staff would come by and collect garbage and old towels. "Sengene var fine at ligge i. Men resten mangler en del comfort. Der kunne godt har været lidt flere behagelige møbler at sidde i. Efter lange gåture, var det ikke så godt, at skulle sidde på de lave stole, så var i gulvplan. Nyt lækkert toilet/bad i underetagen. "

"Wonderful experience. Anyone who has not stayed at a machiya should stay at one (especially for families and larger groups). Hatoba-an was superb. Clean, lots of room (not just by Japanese standards!), many original touches, a small rock garden, great location near Gion, everything worked perfectly. 10/10"
