The only problem was communicating if we needed anything - we ran out of body wash and we left a note on our door because staff would come by and collect garbage and old towels. Unfortunately our flight was delayed a few hours and we didn’t get to the Vrbo until almost 11PM, but he was there to greet us anyway and show us his beautiful property. He recommended many places for us to visit/eat and was always available for questions. The property was gorgeous and immaculately clean. We would love to stay here again if we’re in Kyoto! "

"Good experience to stay in traditional Japanese house.clean and kitchen well equipped. Washing machine was convenient. Due to it being an older building, insulation isn’t very good and gets very cold in the winter and need heaters in all rooms. Location is not great as it is walking distance to most places. Bus stop 7 minute walk. Could have provided more furniture such as chairs. Overall nice experience besides being on the cold side."

"It was our family’s first time staying at a machiya. It was an easy place to find upon arrival in Kyoto. The house was lovely. The tea ceremony at check-in along with the Japanese sweets were much appreciated. They were able to help us arrange for delivery of our luggage onwards to our next city.
