「We stayed at this house for the second time, using it as a base for fishing at the nearby by reservoirs of Rutland, Grafham, and Pitsford. It's a great property, very well equipped and comfortable. Communications with the owners were easy and helpful.」

「Very close to Rutland water. Loads to do at Rutland. Rural location only accessable by car. The owner kindly let us charge the car at the house (we worked out and paid for the electricity used). I was pleased to find there is a freezer in the kitchen. There were lots of kitchen utensils which made cooking easy.」

「We were all looking forward to our short Christmas break and we were not disappointed.. The cottage was easy to find and we had early access. The heating was on and everything looked cosy. 「Good points - very dog friendly, easily accessible shared garden area, comfy bed, powerful shower, excellent curry delivered from next door Niggles - large green light permanently on in the ceiling, flooded the whole room with a green glow that kept us awake. Very thin walls which are not great when the guests in the neighbouring room stay up until 2am, no ventilation (no window to open) so very stuffy even in December」

No Spa and ignorant staff
"Arrived at 2 pm, front desk asked us to come back at 3, eventually checked-in at 3 ish, front desk informed that the Spa closes at 4:30. Rushed to the Spa straight after check-in, and the woman at Spa told us the Spa closes at 3:45 instead because they need time to "clean-up". So we ended up spending 15 mins at the Spa.. Went to the Spa next morning, only to find out the Spa was closed the whole day due to "maintenance"! Complained to the front desk when checked-out, and the lady said "well, it's not enjoyable when it's cloudy anyway". EXCUSE ME?! No compensation and nothing from the management to compensate for no Spa which is the obvious reason why people choose this place instead of a Holiday Inn... Not what a 4 star hotel service should be like! Will go to Rushton Hall Hotel next time..."
