Secluded Pink Snd Beachfront Estate w/Htd Pool
Welcome to On the Rocks, a secluded beachfront estate with pool located directly on Unicorn Cay Beach, a mile-long stretch of pink sand. On the Rocks is located on the Banks Road of Governors Harbour, the premier location on the island, a four minute drive from town and a 15 minute walk down the beach to famous Tippy's beachfront restaurant and bar.
In addition to its mile-long beach, On the Rocks also features a unique sheltered beach area, where the water is often as calm as a lake, protected by a natural jetty of rock. Called the Venus Pool, this sheltered swimming and beach area is perfect for small children, or anyone who enjoys calm water.
The pool is heated with a solar pool heater. Note that solar pool heaters are less effective during overcast periods, so a solar heater cannot guarantee a warm pool.
Inside the estate home, the large great room with vaulted ceiling enjoys sweeping ocean views, as does the den /TV room, two of the bedroom suites, and the studio apartment.
There are 4 bedrooms in the main house, each with en-suite bathrooms and positioned so each room enjoys complete privacy. The 2 large ocean facing bedrooms have king size beds, or one can be made into 2 singles. The other bedrooms are one queen and 2 singles.
In addition, there is a den/TV room with two day beds suitable for children only. With the day beds, the main house can sleep up to 10 guests, 8 adults and 2 children. (THIS ROOM HAS AN OVERHEAD FAN BUT NO AC.)
On the Rocks also has a detached studio apartment with a queen bed, a full bath, and a kitchenette that can be added to the rental for $1000 per week. With the studio included, On the Rocks has 5 bedrooms and can sleep up to 12 guests.
On the Rocks has a/c and ceiling fans throughout except in the TV Room, which has an overhead fan. Amenities include back-up generator, two kayaks, super-fast Starlink internet, AP TV incl.Netflix TV, washer/dryer, along with a good library of books, backgammon and other games also in the house.
The town of Governor's Harbour, 3 miles from On the Rocks, has all necessary shops, banks, travel agent, grocery stores, gift shops and restaurants. It is picturesque and unspoiled. There are no large hotels or casinos on Eleuthera. It is a beautifully quiet and peaceful island. There are many beaches to explore!
A separate one-bedroom cottage called Pebbles is close to On the Rocks and can be rented along with it for larger groups.
Rates are on a sliding scale based on the number of guests. We set the rates this way to make the property more affordable for smaller groups who use less utilities and put less wear and tear on the house. If you enter the correct number of guests, the reservation system will calculate the rates correctly.

Fantastic location!
The location is just like the photos, but better! The water was amazing, clear, and very swimmable. The house did have some minor maintenance issues (missing knobs on some appliances, etc.), but the island is remote and replacement parts are harder to get to. The layout of the house was gorgeous and perfect for our two families to stay in. Overall, highly recommend!

Location Location
This home is located on a beautiful pink soft sand beach with its own natural rocky breakwater creating calm water and good snorkeling opportunities. There is even a good shade tree with swings. Its location matched my ideal beach house dream. The property itself has become dated, the large sliding glass doors are difficult to operate, the well water has an unpleasant taste, the pool had some algae, and there were a few other shortcomings. But having that beach makes up for a lot.

Family Fun at "On the Rocks"
The property worked perfectly for our extended family. The house was well stocked with everything one needed to enjoy the pool and beach as well as preparing meals.
The views from the deck and house were unbelievable. Easy access to the beach was a big plus for us.
We truly enjoyed are stay.

Pedro’s do Eleuthera
The driveway is the 1st obstacle to the house. You may bottom your car out a few times until you figure out how to navigate it. We were 3 couples and the setup of the house was perfect for us. This isn’t a 5 star house, it’s showing its age and could use some updating but it’s Eleuthera. The location and beach make up for any shortcomings in the house. We spent all day, everyday sitting on the beach and swimming. Bugs at night are annoying if there isn’t a breeze to keep them away. Bug spray works. Going to the beach at night and stargazing is recommended. The location of this house is the best. The pool was warm so we didn’t use it much, plus it needed to be cleaned. We had a rodent problem and an air conditioner issue but both were taken care of quickly.

Nice Vacation
Pros: The house was very spacious. Large rooms. Comfortable beds. Beautiful back patio with view of the beach. Close to town.
Cons: when we arrived the house was closed up and the air was turned off. I realize electricity is expensive but it was very warm in the house and it had an odor. The house was not in as good of condition as the pictures make it appear. It’s rather old and needs some TLC.
Overall we had a wonderful trip. Would we stay there again? Probably not but it was alright for the number of people we had.
One more thing…we were there when Hurricane Nicole was near. They were incredibly nice to offer us extended days if we weren’t able to leave on time.

Trip with kids and gkids
The property location is awesome. Views were tremendous. The beach is fantastic for kids, even being on Atlantic side. House is set up great for family/extended family. Main house with 4 bedrooms with baths, and studio with 5th bedroom, bath and kitchenette. Would rent again. Backup generator definitely a big plus, as the neighbors were w/o power for 12+ hours. 2 fridges great for large family. Gardeners were great with gkids, gathered and opened coconuts for them. Owner has games, etc for kids, was nice as we had some weather while there. Have no idea if TV worked, or if there was even a tv there, haha, if so, it was never turned on, even with 5 children. 😀 The internet service did work well. Only concern/complaint was being without water for 14 hours at checkin. Was mostly a communication issue. Worked well, no pun intended, the rest of the week.

Best Eleuthera Beach
On the Rocks is a lovely house in a magical location! Perfectly situated on a beautiful rocky point that provides privacy and access to one of the top beaches on the Atlantic side. Pat and Robert have beautifully decorated the house and the layout is perfect for a larger group.
We enjoyed preparing meals in the big, well-outfitted kitchen. Between surf and snorkel sessions, we enjoyed lounging on the front patio and lawn. The bedrooms are large and provide comfy beds. We really liked the way that each bedroom had it's own attached bath.
This location on Eleuthera is very convenient to Governor's Harbour and Rock Sound. Either township is a quick drive on nice roads. We found some very good snorkeling and caving sites within a 10 minute drive. PROTIP: If the weather is ugly - go visit some cool caves!
North Palmetto is a nice settlement. There are a few medical clinics and a few places to get really good Bahamian food. If you walk north on the beach, you can enjoy Tippy's after a nice 20-minute beach walk.
If you are VERY LUCKY you might get to meet the owner's 3 cute beach dogs. They visited us twice daily and provided lovely tour guide service on a couple of beach hikes.
Overall OTR is a fantastic beach rental! It is well-appointed, well-managed, and priced right. We'll be back...

Fantastic Beach
We had a fantastic time at On The Rocks! The view from the home rivals any island place we have visited & we have been to many islands. Being close to one of the best restaurants on the island was great, we ate at Tippys several times. Also, being right on the beach with easy access was perfect ! The home is very comfortable & creatively Bahamaian

Maison très confortable, plage sublime
On the Rocks est pour moi la maison de plage de rêve ! Plein de lumière, des couleurs vifs des Caraibes, 4 chambres confortables chacune avec sa propre salle de bain et un énorme salon ou tout le monde peut se détendre. La cuisine est bien équipée et on est 10 minutes en voiture de Governor's Harbor pour faire les courses ou profiter d'un des restos de "centre ville". Mais ce qui rende cette maison vraiment exceptionnelle est sa position sur une des plus belles plages des Bahamas. Vue des eaux turquoises depuis la maison et au bout du jardin, une plage de sable fin à couper le souffle. J'ai passé plusieurs vacances en famille et que ce soit avec ou sans enfants, tout le monde adore.

The most scenic property on the island
My family and I always look forward to our stay at this beautiful property- it offers complete relaxation and an opportunity to reconnect with our loved ones.
We look forward to our next stay. I would recommend staying here to anyone looking for some true R+R. Everything about the property was as advertised and we love the fact that it can accommodate our extended family. It was clean and everything functioned well.

On The Rocks
This property was unacceptable for rental. There were bug issues and sanitation issues resulted in our having to refuse this property. Matt Simon was immediately responsive to our dissatisfaction and found another acceptable property to move to. Apparently there were issues with the management company that was previously responsible for this property and a new management company has replaced them. Unless this property can be completely cleaned up and fumigated, I would recommend this property to be removed from your program as it does not meet the standard of your other properties.
The view and location of this property was spectacular though.

Best Rental on Eleuthera
Our week at On the Rocks was heavenly! And oh, how we hated to leave! Our philosophy has always been that there are too many beautiful places in the world to visit the same one twice...but that changed in April of 2013! We'll be back to Eleuthera and On the Rocks...this time with the entire family, we hope! We drove the entire length of Banks Road searching for other, possibly better rental properties. There simply isn't a better one than On the Rocks! The house, the view, the beach, the Venus pool are all as described; maybe better. The house itself may be a bit dated, and we did have some trouble with the sliding screens. But we couldn't have chosen a better place! Simply wonderful! Now I hope not everyone beats us to the punch for the next time we want to rent!

Heaven on earth!
On the Rocks is one of those places where postcards, paintings and photo book covers (all of which have tried to capture its beauty) cannot do the place justice! The moment I began the drive toward the two on-site houses, I felt such serenity that I wondered if there were some magical drug in the air. Quiet, natural, relaxed, clean – it’s a haven within the haven of Eleuthera. And the beach! The only dilemma that nagged at me was do I swim in that luscious water or take a stroll along the curvaceous and oh-so-private beach first? Of course I did both several times every day! Comfortable, convenient and unpretentious, On the Rocks made me feel like I was on the clouds during my stay, and the only horror was having to leave.
