“when we first arrived at Halo Homestay - we were concerned because it was not in a very nice area. We didn't realise how big Halong Bay city is. we were expecting sleepy little fishing village!! NOT!! there are 2 distinct areas 1. locals 2. tourists. This homestay is in the locals area. We were taken around the local area & we were told about, & introduced to, the local way of life. We shared tea & met some amazing people. On this tour with Thanh we learnt so much about the life of farmers on the rice paddy's, & yes we did ask lots of questions & Thanh was a wealth of information.
