「On arrival, we were shown to the "penthouse", a twin room on the third floor. The large bedroom light worked, but none of the smaller, bedside lights worked, so not great at night - totally or all nothing. Floor-space in the room was significantly compromised by a dismantled wooden bed-frame cluttering up the room. The toilet adjacent to our room was ok but we were told that the shower room was not usable so we had to use one on the lower floor (which was for several other rooms). My partner...

「We were put in the annex roof room which had suffered earlier water damage. While we understand that Victorian houses are not the same as today's the stairs were extremely narrow and dangerous, especially when carrying suitcases. The windows also need replacing, the double glazing was a manual effort」

「Room was clean but the wardrobe needed mending. There were also a couple of holes on the window ledges. The room was quite small. It cost me £63 for a night with a shared bathroom and for the cost I expected better. The shared bathroom was the floor below which was too far from the room. Would have been handy to have a sink in the room. It said on Expedia site there was parking but I was not allowed to park in the car park because I only had a single room.
