「Worst booking ever. No, I repeat, no hotel staff....anywhere. The front door to the hotel was unlocked. The restaurant was locked. The bar was locked. Our key was put in the room door. No air con, No bathroom in the room. Small room - about 3 meters square. Just a bed. No table (or room) for even one piece of luggage. Absolutely ridiculous. One public area toilet did not flush. 「I had a wonderful stay at Pen-y-bryn Lodge. The property is a beautiful historic building with a peaceful atmosphere, and the room was spacious, spotless, and full of character. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel warm and personal. Overall, a fantastic experience — I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Oamaru.」
