Amazing place!

Beautiful property, excellent location and elegant decor. Looking forward to returning next year. We have rented two houses every year in Sunset Island for the past 7-years for our annual Labor Day weekend with friends and family. By far one of the best decorated and managed property in the area.

Nice overall

House was clean, except to floors which were very dirty. Furniture nice enough. Lots of living and sleeping space. The best amenities you’ll find in OC and the DE shore. Kids love the bay beach much more than the ocean. Also great pool and food and drink service.

Comfortable home with great location.

Home located convenient right next to clubhouse and pool, but did not get an excessive amount of noise inside during busy Fourth of July period. The development was really nice, like living in Mr. Rodger’s neighborhood. Distance to the beach was about seven blocks. Walkable for us. The only reason we rated four stars instead of five was there is only one bathroom on the third floor for three guest bedrooms. The shower was problematic during our stay and our guests had to use the first floor.

Great location, house needs some attention

We love how close this house is the amenities at Sunset Island. The house has a good footprint and lots of room. It’s just experienced a lot of wear (I.e., floors were broken in places and taped in others with blue tape, garage door didn’t want to close, front door looked like it had been kicked in with the lock barely in place, the walls had a lot of black scuff marks, the screen door was broken, outdoor furniture was super dirty, and more.) The house just needs some updating to make it worth the expense. Otherwise, great location, easy access to the pool and beach, easy check-in, great parking, excellent wifi, and walking distance to a great restaurant and shops is a plus.

Worn Down Convenience

This home has a great location and is the third Vacasa Sunset Island property we have rented. However, every house has had filthy floors upon arrival and has required the cleaning team to come out and properly mop. This house also required extended involvement to have all the moldy window treatments removed from the home and replaced with new ones. A refund was given for the multiple issues we experienced while at the home, but it was a less than satisfactory experience. The property's location to amenities cannot be beat, however, we will look to stay in a different house next time.

Wonderful vacation house!!

Lovely very well decorated home with comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, great extra living spaces and porches, very clean, great location close to the bay beach and pools! Definitely recommend. They just need to add salt and pepper and a few spices to the kitchen. 💗

Room for Improvement

Lack of cleanliness, upkeep, and a bad ant problem made this stay less than desirable. I love the community and plan to come back just maybe in a different house. It’s unfortunate because there are many beautiful, well kept homes in the community. This one has a lot of beauty but it lacking in the finer details.

Excellent location! The passes for the amenities were a little confusing. Six was all we could have. However we had 6 adults and 4 children staying. Because each person had to present a pass, only 6 of us could use the indoorvor outdoor pool at one time.

Very Disappointed

We were so excited about our place but then the refrigerator and dryer did not work. We made several calls and the bottom line is we spent the week without a refrigerator and dryer. Vacasa was unresponsive even though whenever I called they assured me someone would call. No one die.

Major problems

How this property got rented with a non-working refrigerator and dryer, beats me! There was 12 of us with a refrigerator that never got cold! Vacasa knew this because there was a new refrigerator waiting to be installed in the garage. Do you know how inconvenient it is for 12 people to have to go down to another floor for ANYTHING! And we paid too much money for such an inconvenience! Oh and the dryer didn’t work either. At the beach with 12 people and no dryer! Vacasa tried to repair the dryer at dinner time. They had all day! The listing says that all TVs work. Well no they don’t. Two TVs had no cable as advertised. The kitchen had plenty of dish ware but lacking skillets. The kitchen needs sorted. Stuff was everywhere in the cabinets. The toaster needs replaced. One coil on each side worked so that was a treat with 12 of us flipping bread around to toast the other side. The home is in a great location but the air outside stinks. Someone said there is a water treatment plant nearby. I’m not sure. The layout of this beautiful home is not ideal. One kid bedroom on the top floor with a full shower bath. The first floor is the same. That left 4 bedrooms on the main sleeping level with two bathrooms. One bathroom is for the master bedroom leaving 3 bedrooms sharing one full bath. The DVD player was missing for a planned movie night. After several emails and calls to Vacasa, a DVD player and a set of needed sheets were eventually delivered. We received a voicemail that a full reimbursement will be issued. Then Vacasa backtracked and said half of our costs would be reimbursed. Vacasa hasn’t reimbursed us for the major inconvenience of the refrigerator and dryer. Nothing! Boggles my mind how two major appliances weren’t working before renting such an asset. Vacasa is going to tell you that they were so accommodating. We have an open case with VRBO. VRBO passed the problem to Vacasa and Vacasa never addressed the issues. And they had the nerve to call us the morning of our departure to make sure we were out by 10 to do the needed repairs. Vacasa is the worst. I’ve called every day to speak with a senior supervisor and no one has returned our calls. Buyer beware.

Great place for a getaway!

We had a wonderful time on our moms/daughters trip. The house was the perfect size and location was great! The whole community is so cute and we enjoyed every minute.
