"pros : cheap and clean cons : • this was by far my worst experience in Japan during my one month stay. When I booked (one day before my planned check-in), the manager demanded to know at what time I was planning to check in. I was surprised but happily obliged and gave him/her the precise time (4 pm). Me and my family had a wonderful stay at this luxurious hotel. The room even exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean and well-maintained and hotel staff was extremely welcoming, kind and polite and we felt like honored guests the whole time. This hotel was right next to the train station and the main shopping/restaurant areas were a five-minute walk. So, in terms of convenience, it was spot on. The onson/hot springs included were, for me (as a non-Japanese tourist), superb. Free ramen was included in the evenings although I didn't get to try the breakfast. Considering there was construction going on during my stay the room was remarkably quiet. I thoroughly recommend Dormy Inn Oita and would stay there again if I ever return.
