"Hotel is old and not worth the money in my opinion. If you’ve been to the US and stayed at Motel 6, this is how I would describe the room I stayed in. The spring mattress was very old. I’ve been coming to Japan for so long and this is the first time I’ve had to sleep on a spring mattress that was very old and uncomfortable. A futon mattress would have been better. The hotel is nice only in the lobby. Carpet in the hallways was badly stained, elevators were slow. I stayed for one night to use the onsen after a long hiking trip, but lots of young children were screaming and used the public bath as if it was a swimming pool. It was not a relaxing experience at all."

"Fantastic stay in this onsen style ryokan. Had a wonderful private onsen in our room, overlooking the river and the lake beyond. Can’t ask for a more perfect experience. Waking up early to soak in our private room onsen before dressing and heading down for the Japanese style breakfast included."
