Lesson learned and heads up to other families, skip this rental if you prefer to keep your stress level low. Lots of other great options out there. This rental is managed by a third party (Florida vacation rentals, goes by other names as well). You don't interact with the owners directly. Typically that should be okay but the problem is this Property Management company (Florida Vacation Rentals) drags this place down. Its a shame too because the house is solid. i'm hoping the owner sees this and selects a new company to manage his/her property. We had a couple minor, easily solvable issues during our stay. Instead the issues were compounded and not solved timely. Its almost like they are trained to dodge/counter rather than troubleshoot. This spoiled a big part of the trip for us. One specifically is the pool heat. We paid the extra 30 per day (over 200 bucks). it worked when we arrived but not again until the final day of the trip, We contacted them daily and pleaded with them to send someone out. Instead, they blamed the outside temp, when in fact it was an issue with the pump reading an error. Yes it was cold out but it was the cold the first day we arrived and it worked. The pool guy fixed it easily (water level low) but it took getting yelled out, contract thrown in our face to get it resolved. Finally when they read the pool guy report and admitted fault due to heater issue, instead of apologizing and saying we will refund the money they basically said send us an email. So i do that immediately and still haven't heard back. Borderline theft of services. Total joke, sort of makes you feel like the friend that owes you money... you have to go asking them for it back. We rent several places each year and this was our worst customer service experience.
