We enjoyed a family weekend here and appreciated the thoughtful extras in the kitchen which allowed us to prepare our own lobster boil that we enjoyed on the screened in porch. We would definitely come back.

Perfect Cape Escape

We loved our stay on Arey's Pond. The house is adorable and equipped with just about everything you need for a Cape stay (including a massive lobster pot). The bedroom set-up is great and fit our two families comfortably. We used the screened in porch every night to be outside but away from the inevitable bugs. The kayak was a bonus and the location is idyllic, away from it all, but a short drive to beaches and shops. Only recommendation is to get a window a/c unit for the twin bedroom upstairs. On warm nights, it gets pretty hot up there (despite any breeze off the pond). 5 stars nonetheless.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was older than anticipated. The bathrooms were very nice. I think I over paid for what we got. The view was nice. The screened porch was filthy and also needs a paint job. I had to call the rental place and they were very responsive . They came and power washed the porch for me.

Overpriced misleading listing

Book it if you want to spoil your vacation. Property is located next to a lake but there is no real access - overgrown grass and bushes, rotten wood and garbage in some spots. Owner confirmed double kayak availability - none was available (~$100 to rent for a few hours). Yard isn't taken care for long time, no pavement, it's just dirty sand in which rainwater made tranches. Unpaved road to the house is riddled with big puddles and overgrown bushes on each side (scratched the car in one spot). Garbage wasn't remove from a few last vacationers. House looks like it's about to fall apart - rotten exterior and mossed roof. Two out of 4 bedroom had no AC, we were "lucky" to have only 2 hot days, otherwise there were very hoot. No curtains on the windows make rooms looks naked and uncomfortable. Most importantly, property is listed for sale and the owner is just taking advantage of the price hike this year. Property manager, Vacasa, if very hard to reach and just useless when I did get in touch. Stay away from this wreck.

This place felt magical! An updated but simple house with everything you need. The screened porch, the cozy living room, the view of the pond with all the boats, seals in the pond... It was amazing. Thank you for sharing your place with us. By the way, though, Google maps doesn't *exactly* know how to find it. You have to go a bit beyond where it says, then turn right and right again to find it.

Peaceful seclusion

You can feel the warm family vibe from this throwback home on a pond. Well, pond is a bit of a misnomer, it’s actually connected to the ocean and we enjoyed seeing the seals playing and hunting for fish in water.

Very nature-y amazing property with kayak to use on a beautiful pond. We were a group of 6 friends and had so much fun with the boats. Really nice beaches 10-15 min away. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect family vacation

pecks way in Orleans was the perfect location for a cape stay. Felt so secluded in the quiet woods yet only minutes from town and close to the national seashore. Will definitely look for this property to rent again!

Cozy and quiet for a relaxing vacation!

We stayed for a week to attend our nephew's wedding in Orleans.The cabin was perfect! Very neat and clean, quiet surroundings, and lovely view of sailboats on Arey's Pond. There were 4 of us for the entire week, with 2 more coming later in the week. Plenty of bedrooms and eating areas! We all loved the rustic atmosphere and being surrounded by trees. In addition, it was close to our other relatives and easy to drive to Hyannis and Provincetown. Highly recommend for a family or couple who want to visit Cape Cod and environs. Very responsive and welcoming owners, too!

Great rental and super location!

My husband and I had a fantastic 2 week vacation in Sept. 2010 here. The house is roomy, very clean and well equipped, with great views of the pond. We really enjoyed having dinner on the screened-in porch and watching the sun set. The location is wonderful, right on Arey's Pond - lovely and quiet. It was the ideal location for us as we had just purchased a tandem kayak, so launching was a breeze right from the yard! We will definitely return, and I highly recommend this rental.
