“We had a disappointing experience during our stay at a VRBO property in Horseshoe Valley. Upon arrival, we found the driveway had not been shoveled, which made it difficult to park and unload our things in the snow. Having said that, it never stopped snowing for 3 days which makes it difficult to keep driveway and stairs clear and safe. “We just spent a boys weekend here and it couldn’t have been better. The cottage is spacious, super clean, and really well equipped. The view of Lake Simcoe from the patio is unreal, especially at sunset. We made full use of the sauna and the BBQ got a lot of use too. The bedrooms were comfortable and everyone had more than enough space. Loved the big dining area and the open kitchen, perfect for group meals. Also appreciated how fast the Wi-Fi was and how much parking there was for five cars.……

“This was a nice big place, clean and good value for the money. Better than a hotel room at any of the cheap hotels in town. “The house is huge - the furniture is quite shabby - couches on blocks of wood. Beds are falling apart. Only sheets provided not a single blanket in the house and only a couple of towels. “This unit isn’t anything special; cheaply renovated, poorly decorated, oddly shaped. The toilets are sensitive, so we were instructed to not flush toilet paper and the shower didn’t drain properly. “Stayed at this cottage for a 3 night getaway. Since the cottage is only 2 years old, everything is new, clean, comfortable and very bright. Great location right on the water, which made it a great spot to watch the boats go by, and spectacular sunsets. “My friends and I had a great stay! The location on the beach was beautiful. Not a far walk into the town which was nice. The cabin itself was good. The only thing was we found the ramp to be a bit tricky. But overall, the cabin suited us perfectly. The manager and the maintenance staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, which made our stay better than expected. Thank you for a great weekend!”

"I recommend that guests double-check and confirm with the front desk whether their deposit will be refunded automatically or if they need to swipe their card in person. I was very frustrated when the front desk employee told me during check-out that I didn’t need to swipe my card to get the deposit refund. However, after driving an hour away, the front desk called me back to inform me that I had to return to swipe the card in person......Lost my time and gas."
