The name “Benten-chō” derives from “Benzaiten,” the only female deity among the Seven Lucky Gods. In Genroku 11 (1698), “Ichioka Shinden”—the largest reclaimed land area in the Osaka Bay region—was developed in what is now Minato Ward, Osaka City. However, even after the new fields were completed, the area was frequently plagued by flooding, and the farmland fell into disrepair. To quell these floods, it is said that Benzaiten—a deity closely associated with water—was enshrined at the community hall that served as the center of the new settlement.
In homage to Benzaiten, the goddess of water, we designed the interior of this facility around the theme of “Beauty and Water.” The facility features a rooftop open-air bath, a rooftop theater, a rooftop garden, and a living room where guests can relax on large sofas, and we also provide the latest beauty appliances. We hope you’ll enjoy a leisurely and luxurious stay while reflecting on the history of this area.
