Perfect family stay!

Such a nice resort, and so much for my kiddo to do! We had a blast at the arcade and waterpark! The rooms were very well maintained and the front office staff was amazing! I plan on coming back every year!

fun slides in the pool area ( but getting old ), kiddie pool was too cool, the restaurant should bring the ordered food to the pool......but otherwise, great place, large room, comfortable, grounds are gorgeous, peaceful patio off the restaurant.

My room had wall paper that was peeling off the walls and was very stuffy. It also had red stains on the carpet. There was plenty of space in the room and the bed and pillows were comfy.

We had a nice stay! But the property definitely needs a deep clean and some general upkeep done. The handrails at the water park to the slide were incredibly rusty and falling apart, carpets throughout need a good shampooing, and the arcade machines were not working well. The restaurant nice though! Staff were also friendly! We would go back, but it’s important to have the right expectations here…

I have multiple children ranging in age from 1-14 and there was plenty for all of them to do at the water park. The arcade was on the smaller side but still plenty for the kids to have some fun. The room was clean and spacious. The only complaint I have is that the hot tub was out of order but I understand that things require maintenance sometimes. The restaurant had good food and a friendly staff. Will definitely return.

The room was convenient for my daughter and her friends to have their own space and the grounds are beautiful. The watersides weren’t on consistently with their posted hours, so there were many hours that they could not be enjoyed. The hotel itself was pretty outdated and their elevator shook quite a bit.

They put us in the wrong room and had to switch at 1am. It’s pretty expensive for what you get. No complimentary breakfast. Outrageous fees for it being a resort plus we got charged for an extra person and cleaning fees. Not very kid friendly - people constantly pounding on the floor below us because our kids were just walking around.

This is our second time here. The Wi-Fi never worked, even after we told front desk, pool water was cold, kids did fine but after a while they got cold! The baby pool area was freezing! We didn't have to pay for water Park passes because hot tub was broken but also the slides had to be shut down because of the cold weather. The arcade was fun, but it didn't take credit cards to get tokens, need cash. Some of the games broke the second day we were there. If you can be flexible and be ok with average hotel stay then it will be fine. The rooms were decent, hot tub in the room felt great after the cold water park!

We stayed one night because our daughter was playing in a tournament at Thumper Ponds. The hotel was very conveniently located next to the clubhouse and overlooked the golf course. The hotel was largely fine if a bit dated/worn in parts. It looked beautiful from the outside, but was oddly dark inside, e.g. hallways and even the room. It was also quiet, good for getting rest but also it felt a little deserted. Even our daughter, who'd never seen the movie, said it a little like the Shining. Dining, especially breakfast, was inconvenient because the hotel restaurant didn't open until 11 am, and there wasn't a quick grab area in the hotel. Otter Tail is a small town so nothing was really far from the hotel. The best part was the waterpark. Although it certainly wasn't a big fancy resort waterpark, it had a fun tube flume and water slide too. The railings were rusty so there was a thought about tetanus but not unusual in a lot of waterparks. The price was fair (especially through Orbitz), we enjoyed the pool (the waterpark portion closed at 8), and got a good night's sleep. We would stay there again.

The plus side to the stay no one was in the water park area, so the kids were able to use the slide without waiting. The negatives, gum, rust, and trash on the stairs leading to the top of the slide. Soft spots in under the carpet while walking in the hallways on the second floor. Wallpaper is peeling up everywhere in the hotel. No waterslide supervision. They have a camera set up to watch for the person in front of you to finish the slide however the TV at the top is unplugged. The volleyball net is partially submerged in the pool. Both huge safety risks. The hot tub is warm at best. My wife and I joked the place is run by teenagers. I would not recommend to anyone.

Loved the room 325 and the view. The pool was nice especially the sunning area outside the pool. The food was okay at Willy T’s but the entertainment 8/31 was very good. We had an issue with the staff entering our room unannounced. She had longer blonde hair a taller bigger built younger woman. She entered my room, shut the door and stood by the door and then left. I have a feeling if we weren’t there she would have gone through our things. I told the front desk manager about it and she talked to the staff. One girl had a baseball cap and the other longer blonde hair. The girl with the long hair was screaming and making a fuss over management of the front desk staff and my granddaughter finally went in the hall and asked her to be quiet. This was at 8:45 am and check out wasn’t until 1 pm as we requested late check out. Zachary or Daquary I believe was the front desk manager. She was very accommodating and runs a tight ship. Besides this incident everything else was great. I would stay there again. Debbie Weckman

The pool area pool and spa were nice. The front desk staff were excellent. There is no dining options other than the resort itself really around. Remodeling/updating is needed. Wallpaper peeling off in areas and showing its age. Ok stay for a few nights but nothing spectacular.

We loved our stay at Thumper Pond. We stayed on a Thursday night and had the entire waterpark to ourselves for several hours that evening as well as the following morning. Staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Was price friendly for a last minute stay with plenty of activities for us and our kids to enjoy.
