“This was a nice place to stay.And I felt like it was clean. There is no breakfast. And they came knocking at my door at 10 minutes till 10 and said, check out. What's ten o'clock, which is very unusual for a hotel?And no one bothered to tell me that when I checked in the night before, so we were rushed to get out.That is the thing that I did not like about it.”

“Breakfast was very good and better than 3 other places we stayed at in our travels.”

“Our stay was wonderful, newly remodeled very clean. Shower was fantastic as it had handicapped rails to help get in and out. Bed was very comfortable. Continental breakfast and the coffee was very good. Staff was very friendly.”

“The property was clean but April did not leave a note that we had been there to check in and our room was given to the lady in front of us making us late for an appt. The gentleman on duty did upgrade our room for free but we were still late. Kudos to him! Otherwise the hotel was nice”

“Staff was great. Pool was small but we used it anyway. Very clean throughout the hotel. Easy access to anything you wanted to do.”

“The breakfast was simple, but pleasant. They had full fat yogurt and whole milk, and a pancake machine instead of the traditional waffle machine. My wife especially liked the raisin bran. The room was fine, but the details were a bit lacking. The bathtub had a substantial gap on one side, for example. The people were singularly great and helpful.”

“Although I only spent the night. It was a beautiful location. I would absolutely go back again. The staff were wonderful. My room was fantastic.”

“The room was very clean and stocked with plenty of towels. Beds were comfortable and bedding was clean and soft. Noise was at a minimum, so no real disturbances with people outside in hallway or in other rooms. Breakfast was surprisingly varied, with eggs, meat, breads and cereals for options. Only major downside was pool, as it is in a very small room, very limited seating to sit or place items and room was very warm and stuffy.”

“Didn't have free coffee in the lobby”

“The room was Ok, just a place to sleep. It was relatively clean. The pool was not in service and there was no notice on the site, (we have kids and it was really the only reason we stayed here). Spent $10 to do 2 loads of clothes (only 1 washer, 2 dryers, and they still didn't get fully dry). The "breakfast" was thoroughly unimpressive. Overall, Skip this place unless all you need to do is sleep.”

“There was a water leak in the room that was reserved for us and it could not be fixed same day. Upon my request I asked the kind young lady at front desk if she could recommend a diff motel for us for that 1 night stay. She did and called that diff motel to see if they had any vacancies which theu did. She had great customer service skills. She also directed us to the Jayco (Kroger) store where we could get gas”

“A very well kept & friendly hotel! I picked it from reading the reviews and it did not disappoint. It also had free breakfast, an indoor pool, a Cracker Barrel next door, and it was directly off of I-65. I do not believe that was mentioned.”

“I wish breakfast was at 6 instead of 7 so we could have enjoyed it.”

“I am from Madison and always look forward to staying with the Hillside and staff. Everyone is always very nice. Now the building is old so you have to accept some of the blemishes. My recommendation is stay in the winter when all the leaves have fallen and at night you can look down the street and watch the snow fall then go walking down main late at night it’s so peaceful and quite all you hear is the snow falling.”
