Nice location and setting - that's about it.

The location is very convenient close to the motorway and nothing to fault at the hotel and the rooms. That said, I found it rather disappointing that a hotel/monastery carrying the name of a quite known beer doesn't even have a bar.

Schuur 2 contains old rooms that need renovation very badly - the bathroom has mould contamination, the only water glass in the room was cracked, the curtains could neither be opened nor closed, the TV is standing on top of a cupboard (i.e. 2 meters high), there is not even a complementary bottle of water, they forgot to clean the room, etc. etc. The hotel caters mainly for groups of bikers on pension, and the restaurant only provides a set menu after reservation (but you only find out if you ask for a table). The staff at Reception is very young and unfriendly - but you still pay more than 100 Euro for a basic i bed room. They will never see me again!!

Tres bel endroit

C est un hotel un peu atypique mais qui vaut vraiment le detour. Le restaurant était malheureusement fermé mais il y a de quoi faire pas loin.

Sfeer goed en upgrade service hard nodig

Mooi oud gebouw. Receptie gaat om 18:00 dicht. Restaurant open om 19:00 uur. Alleen een menu voor allen. Voorgerecht duurde een uur voor het op tafel kwam. Personeel is vriendelijk. Mijn aanbetaling was moeilijk te vinden bij het uitchecken dat een halfuur in beslag nam. Goede bedden.

Beautiful building but not much character inside, more of a 1980s conference hotel. Rooms basic. Menu very limited but in impressive hall. Bar in impressive vaulted cellar. In beautiful countryside and pleasant grounds. In area where there are not many hotels.

Perdue dans un vieux prieuré

Ce site très touristique (un bus entier de touriste lorsque j'y étais) est pourtant très calme et incite à la retraite spirituel. Entouré de forets avec un parc arboré et un bon restaurant, ce prieuré est charmant. Un plaisir lorsqu'il fait beau. Un personnel au petits soins. Parfait pour des séminaires d'entreprise ou même des mariages !

Characterful

This is an amazing place, a restored former monastery, full of character and history. The rooms are comfortable if simple (befitting a monk's chamber). Breakfast was very good. Dinner would probably have been good, but one needs to book in advance to secure a table. We didn't. The location is rather isolated, so we had to drive out to find dinner. I have stayed here before and will again, probably. There are better value locations nearby, but this place has character.

Different!

I stayed for one night in this out-of-the-way hotel - in a single room in the old guesthouse. The room was OK, considering modern requirements had been squeezed into an ancient building. All the staff were very helpful, especially the team on reception. The Priorij is rather isolated and as the restaurant was fully-booked by a large party I needed to drive to a local town for dinner (the only alternative in walking distance being closed). I thought it was a great place for a quiet night at the end of a busy week.
