Great Location, Interesting Property!
We enjoyed our time at Serendipity and Serenade House this past Christmas and New Year. Mike was a good host, very available, welcoming and flexible with our arrivals and departures. There was more than enough space for the 9 of us, the many great outdoor deck areas to enjoy the views, relax with the sun and jacuzzi as well as eating space.
Here is a bit of a balanced things we noticed.
Great things to note:
Wonderful view of Oyster Pond, the ocean, St. Bart’s and sunrises
Plenty of space, bedrooms, bathrooms
Great outdoor balconies, patios, decks, eating area
Nice pool & jacuzzi
Parking space & Airco in every room
Points to note:
The house is built against a steep hill, thus access is a bit challenging and thus there are many stairs/steps especially in the lower part of the complex.
Wifi doesn’t reach all bedrooms/ areas (thick walls, large spaces).
St. Maarten is a subtropical island with very high humidity, thus it gets very humid inside the house with it’s consequences!
Opening windows and doors, to let the breeze in, is highly recommended but allows gnats etc. to enter as well.
We had some very short, but hard tropical rainstorms, and there was some leaking but Mike was going to fix it. But everybody and everything stayed dry,
4-star cleanliness, needs some extra efforts to get to 5-stars.
All in all, lovely location with excellent views and outdoor enjoyment, very unique and special house and very nice and available host.
