  • The beach at Cape Kiwanda and Pelican Brewery is just a five minute walk away. The Short Board Studio is a warm and modern, dog-friendly home with plenty of space for up to four guests to stretch out. The cozy home sits close to great hiking and surfing spots.

    Enjoy the peaceful hiking trail that leads past Cape Kiawanda into Tierra Del Mar.

    For additional space, also reserve the Long Board Loft.

    This home only accepts Dogs as pets.
    Quiet Hours: 10PM - 8AM
    Dogs: 2 dogs maximum. Pick up after pets; no unattended dogs; no dogs on beds and furniture
    Parking: Designated spots only - contact us if you need extra space
    No Smoking or Vaping: including marijuana, inside or on the property.
    Safety: Smoke + CO detectors and fire extinguishers are installed.
    Bedrooms: No food or drink.
    Shoes: Please remove indoors.

Nice enough with some caveats

The layout is nice and so are the kitchen and bedroom. The bed is comfortable. There is no view. It wasn't totally clear to us that someone else would be staying above us, but that was fine. There is no sound proofing though, so it sounded like they were stomping around and slamming doors and cupboards. The location is right along a very busy road, and you can hear ALL the road noise too. The living room is not a comfortable space. None of the furniture matches, the decor is haphazard and there were random wires here and there. It's conveniently located right near the main beach access. If we were planning to spend all our time out, away from the house, then it would have been excellent.

Convenient spot near Cape Kiwanda

Overall a great place if you are looking for somewhere close to downtown, so close we walked to the beach! The main drawback was the noise. Luckily, no one was renting the top floor Long Board unit, but the traffic noise is deafening. There is no AC so you have to keep the windows open to stay cool and the noise was too much for a couple of us. Earplugs encouraged. Also, would have been nice to know that the dedicated parking spot for this unit is next to the busy road and forces you to walk up a hill. No big deal for us, but good to know for others. Mattress and pullout bed were not in the best shape either, but that seems to be the norm for rentals. Note to the owners, loved the little greenspace off the bedroom. I ended up taking calls there one day, would be nice if the chairs weren't rusted through. Seems a bit dangerous for such a lovely little patio.

The staff was quick to respond to the dirty couch bed that was covered in dog hair the couch bed was worn out and not good at all the staff was nice and even offered a new place on the second floor nice at 630 pm . And checked out early from what smelled like wet dog smell that was there

Great location and cute spot. The small one bedroom was spacious and easily fit our family of 4. They had a DVD player but unfortunately the tv didn’t have an hdmi so we couldn’t use it. The kitchen supplies were slightly lacking but overall this place was great. You can’t beat the location and how close to the beach it is.
