However as we returned after an evening out the stench in the air from a soil, composting, wastewater and recycling treatment plant was overwhelming. “The room was very worn, but the worst was the shower, which was essentially unusable due to stains of an unknown origin. Through no fault of the owners, the city as a whole is not a safe place to visit, particularly in the area where the property is located. “Oh boy...I greatly dislike writing negative reviews. While Chemainus is adorable, the location is fantastic and the exterior is a dream...this aint it. Mouldy drapes, a number of amenities were broken (electric fireplace, mouldy fridge), no wifi, questionably clean bedsheets. And (I have photos as proof) a white substance residue left on the counter next to the bed. I will say that the indoor jet tub was amazing! I swear I heard a cough below us at one point and noticed a little door that looked……
