"The host and her family were wonderful. They treated us as though we were a part of their family. There was food when we arrived from our long trip, beer and wine in the fridge and coffee pods to use. The host even provided a birthday cake for my wife. The apartment was ideal for exploring Padova, a 7 minute walk to the city center. We had breakfast every morning at a "bar" very close by, hosted by Fabio. "Great hotel, best hotel bfest ever, and Franchesca (sp) at FD was amazing!!! She had curly brown hair and was so sweet and professional. Made us feel so welcome and cared for like family!"

"Location, location, location. The location of this hotel cannot be beat. A few steps from the Rialto Bridge with all kinds of public transportation right in front. The hotel is also beautiful, housed in an old and elegant building. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The only negative was the size of our room, which is, of course, a not uncommon issue with European hotels in the older parts of a city. But the positives easily outweighed this one negative, and we definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to be in the middle of the action."

"The staff was extremely helpful, location great but the shared bathroom is the most disgusting thing that I have experienced. The bathroom was constantly dirty, blood stain on the toilet, there was always pee on the floor, around the toilet and on the toilet as well. First and last time I book a shared bathroom room."

"This was our second stay at Hotel Principe. We love the location, as it’s within a couple blocks of the Santa Lucia train station, and there are many shops and restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. The hotel is right on the water with a great view of the canal. Our room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast buffet offered many options. We will stay here again if we come back to Venice."

"The room was clean, but there was a horrible sewer smell when the windows were closed and the AC was on. In fairness to the hotel, we got there late, so I did not ask to get a different room after we checked in (we were only there 1 night). Maybe they would have accommodated. The smell was also present in the lobby but not as strong. Our room was on the second floor."
